Rich Razzleberry Stippled Blossoms

Today's card is my last May stamp a stack card.  All I have to say is if you're anything like me don't try designing your cards after midnight.  It took me three tries to get this card right because I kept stamping my leaves in the Rich Razzleberry ink instead of the greens!  I love how it turned out once I finally got it right though! lol

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

RHSSC - Stippled Blossoms

It's Sunday so that means it's time for another Red Hot Stampers' sketch challenge card.  I finally bought the Stippled Blossoms set and used it for our challenge this week.  I really like how this card turned out.  Not that I don't like my other cards, but sometimes some cards just stand out more than others to me. :)  Don't forget to check the Red Hot Stampers' blog HERE to see what the other ladies made.  Lots of great, but different ideas using this design.  Why not give it a try yourself this week and show us what you made? :)

I actually did something on the inside of the card this time too. :)

Happy Birthday to my Mom

The other day my dad asked me to make a card for my mom for her birthday (from him, of course) and I said sure. :)  So I got busy looking at some sketch challenges.  I saw the one from this week's Hand Stamped Sentiments and had an idea pop in my mind right away.  This is what I came up with.  Can you tell what her favorite color is?  :)

Of course I needed to make her a card from me and my family so I got to work again and ended up using the same sketch challenge from Hand Stamped Sentiments and the SUO (Stampin' Up! Only) challenge.  This week's challenge is to use one of your favorite retiring sets on your card.  I have a couple of favorites and Elements of Style is one of them.  So so sad to see this one go. :(

Thinking of You Fabulous Florets

Yes, its another sponged Fabulous Florets card.  I was going to use one of my Red Hot Stampers' cards for a stamp a stack that I have tonight and couldn't find it.  I must have given it away and don't remember.  That seems to be my life a lot lately...I don't remember! lol  Anyway, it was one similar to this card, but I did make a few changes to it. :)

On another note, congratulations to Monica C. for winning as my mystery hostess!  I didn't have a lot of orders, but did get enough to give away $25.  :)  I have to start building from somewhere, and if I don't try I won't go anywhere. So here's to a little more success each day.

Another Fabulous Florets

He is Risen!  Happy Easter Everyone!
Since it's Sunday that means it's time for another Red Hot Stampers' sketch challenge.  I thought about making a few lilies to put on my card since it's Easter, then changed my mind when I remembered how much work they are!  Instead I fell back on one of my trusted flower stamp sets and embossed the flowers in baja breeze and pool party.  What you can't see very well in the picture is the flecks of certainly celery that I have  spritzed on the card, but that's the way the picture turns out sometimes. lol  Don't forget to check out the other cards using this same sketch here over at the Red Hot Stampers blog.  If you're feeling adventurous why not give the sketch a try.  It was nice and simple this week. :)

RHSSC - Elegant Elements of Style

Well, I've been a little lazy this past week and haven't posted anything. :(  Actually I ended up hurting my back and I've been laying low for a few days...in other words I've been bored, bored, bored!  I managed to head to my basement yesterday afternoon to make sure I had a card ready for the next Red Hot Stampers challenge though. :)  It was good to get out of bed, but my back sure was letting me know it wasn't happy.   As I'm typing this up though I'm not feeling too bad.  Let's hope it stays that way. :)  Don't forget to head over to the Red Hot Stampers blog here to check out what the other ladies made with this week's sketch.  And if you're feeling a little adventurous why not give the sketch a try yourself.

RHSSC - Blooming with Kindness

It's Sunday again, so that means it's time to post another card for the Red Hot Stampers' sketch challenge.  I don't think I use a lot of black and pink together, so I thought I'd give it a try this week. :)  Don't forget to head over to the Red Hot Stampers' blog to check out the other cards made using this sketch.  If you're up to it why not give our sketch a try...

Double Blooming with Kindness

Today's cards are a couple more that we made at my January stamp a stack.  I wanted to use a couple of small things from Sale-a-bration so I used the buttons and ribbons from the Sycamore Street Ribbon & Button Pack.  I also gave them the choice between the two different colors...not a good idea unless you have two stamp sets and separate baskets otherwise you're going to spend a lot of time cleaning stamps! lol

I'm not a big fan of orange and blue together, but some people love the colors together so I thought I'd take a pic of them together. :)

RHSSC - Elements of Style

It's time for another Red Hot Stampers' sketch challenge card, and since it's been so snowy in our area I though I'd do something with flowers to remind me that spring is coming.  I must say though I do love snow!  Why I love it when I hate being cold confuses even me! lol   This is a pretty clean and simple card, but I can't take credit for the "Two-tone Tearing" idea.  I saw it over on France's blog here and had to give it a try myself.  So simple to do and I love the idea.  Don't forget that this is the last week of January's blog candy give away for those that make a card using our sketch.  Head on over to the Red Hot Stampers blog here to check out the other cards made with this week's design and see what you can win if you play!

RHSSC #70 - Flowers!

Wow, the first challenge for 2013 and it was definitely the hardest Red Hot sketch challenge for me yet!  Looking at the other ladies' cards you'd think it was no problem for them at all!  Glad I sat down earlier in the week to make this one up instead of waiting until the last day!  This is definitely not the norm for my type of cards, but it think it turned out pretty cute.  However my son's reaction was, "I don't get it!" lol  My daughter thought it was pretty cute.  Well, I wanted to try out something new from the Spring Catalog...making flowers using the Creped Filter Paper.  I used one piece of the creped filter paper over regular card stock on the little flowers and did three sets of that for the big flower using the 2012-2013 In Colors.  Oh, don't forget to check out the other cards using this sketch at the Red Hot Stampers' blog here!

Love looking at the card from this angle...weird, I know.  But I think it looks so cool! lol

Just a pic a little closer to see the detail on the flowers and brads.  I dabbed the brads in ink then in clear embossing powder and used the heat gun so they kind of matched the color of flower they went with.

Pleasant Poppies

Happy New Year!  Wow, it's 2013 already!  Last year certainly seemed to fly by.  Guess time flies when you're having fun, right?  And I sure think making cards is fun...well, most of the time I do. :)  Today's card shows a few goodies from the Spring Catalog.  I've had them for about a week and had an idea going through my head, but I needed to do some real work before I could play. lol  I wanted to use the new embossing folder, framelits and ribbon.  Plus I haven't used my Pleasant Poppies set yet and thought this would be the perfect time to dig it out.  Definitely a spring card, but I needed a few flowers to come out for a while since it's the only place I'll see them for a few months.

Manhattan Flower

Today's cards are one of my June stamp a stack cards.  Not the easiest to prep because of the embossing, but pretty simple for the ladies to make.  I really liked how my first one turned out...until I made my second one.  Then I liked that one a little better. lol  I liked having more than one of this card to show the ladies how sponging can vary from person to person, or in my case from card to card.  When you make your own cards, each one is unique. :)

Yup, you know it's Sunday because I'm finally posting again for another Red Hot Stamper's Sketch challenge.  I had to think a little bit for today's card, but I knew I wanted it to be for a bridal shower because my niece is here from out of state and we have a shower for her today.

Fabulous Florets Sponged Flowers

Sponging demonstration!  That's what I made this card for.  For some crazy reason I volunteered myself to do a demo at my upline's meeting again.  I survived...barely. lol  Actually I love the demo meetings and they've really brought me out of my "way too shy" shell.   I didn't want to do too much thinking (talk about lazy! lol), so I used a couple of colors on flowers that I had made before and used the sketch challenge Less is More for my card's design.

Zoomed in a bit...

Blossom Birthday

Today's card is one I made for my mother-in-law's birthday.  I saw a video for a neat card idea here from Julie Davison and decided to give it a try.  I did change the dimensions a bit to make it a 5 1/2" x 4 1/4 " card and instead of adding the DSP to the card, I used a sheet of the DSP...that's because I don't have any paper that's 12 x 12" and that's the size you need to make this card.  I really wish pictures turned out as nicely as what we see in person, because this is really an elegant card.

Happy Mother's Day

My last card for my April stamp a stack was a Mother's Day card.  I couldn't decide between the pink and purple so I went with both and let them decide what color they wanted to do.  I got my inspiration for this card from mamaxsix on Splitcoaststampers.  Hopefully  you can view her lovely card here

Inspired by Nature

Thought I would share the last two cards that I made for my April stamp a stack today and tomorrow.  I found my design for this card from Patty Gorka while looking around on Splitcoaststampers, and you can see her lovely card here.  I thought for sure the ladies would think this card was too simple, but for some reason we had a few problems with this one.  We had a lot of laughs by the time the night was done though!

Growing Green Anniversary

Well, I have been laid back about posting things on my blog lately, but I have a pretty card to show you today.  I've been looking for ideas for cards for my next stamp a stack and came across this card...at least this is my version of it. :)

I don't case a card very often, but I was looking for an anniversary card too while getting my stamp a stack ideas and loved the colors on this one.  Not too bright for the guy, and not too masculine for the girl.  I might even end up using it for my stamp a stack too, who knows. ;)  This came from Deb Fearns and you can check out her card here. I must say she has the shadowing effect down a lot better than me!   I just sponged and spritzed my flowers.  I guess I need to take some classes or study up on that technique a little bit!  If you like this stamp set you might want to look into buying it because it's on the retired list!  I love the flower from it that I've cut out...and I've done it quite a few times.  I hope they have something similar to it in the new catalog!
