Birthday Purse

I had a lot of fun making today's card and gift for my niece.  My upline  Glenda  made a purse like this, and I ended up getting one; so I thought it would be the perfect purse to make for my niece this year.  I also made her a little notebook to go in her purse...

and a card that fit perfectly too.  I came up with my own fun saying for her that started on the inside of the card...

then it has to open even more to read the rest.  I also put in a pack of gum (that she has to share with her brothers and sister) and a dollar in change.  I usually hide a dollar bill somewhere in their card, but I just did change in her purse this year. That's a tradition I've done for each of them since their first birthday.  I'm afraid someday a dollar just won't be enough! lol

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Petal Cone Die Box

Today's post is another thing I've been thinking about for a few weeks.  At our last Red Hot Stampers meeting our upline, Glenda, had all of us cut out two of the Petal Cone Dies using any color we wanted, and you guessed it....she asked us  to make something out of it.  For some odd reason I chose Always Artichoke ~ don't ask me why~ and now I needed to figure out what to do with it.  Well, that's where these challenges come to the rescue!  I saw challenge 56 from Hand Stamped Sentiments.  It was all about dies, and that's what I was doing.  So I decided to do a box and put some kind of flower on top...

...but what color  should I use for my flower?  That's where my next challenge, #41 from Stampin' Celebration helped out.  I love the colors they put out there for us to use.  This challenge has shadowing on the table cloth that makes it appear green and the flowers were just the color I needed to go with Always Artichoke.

Thanks to all the ladies out there who put a lot of time and effort into these challenges for us!

I finally came up with this lovely box.  Not sure what kind of flower I would call it, but I think it looks similar to some pictures I've seen of some dahlias, so I'll go with that. :)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Card Stock:  Always Artichoke, Rich Razzleberry & Whisper White
Classic Stampin' Pads:  Rich Razzleberry & So Saffron
Big Shot Dies:  Petal Cone & Daisies Flower #2
Punches:  Boho Blossoms & 1/2" Circle
Ribbon:  5/8" Grosgrain in Rich Razzleberry
Jewels:  Basic Pearls

I sponged the daisies with Rich Razzleberry and So Saffron then attached the three layers of the large daisy to each other and curled each layer to my liking.  I repeated the same step with two layers of the medium daisies and one layer of the small daisy. I attached it to the box with velcro, so it's relatively easy on and off.

Spring Daisies

Can you tell I'm thinking spring lately with the cards I've been making?  Seems like all my cards have flowers of some sort or another lately. :)  Today I made a card for two different challenges.

Stamping411 Challenge 191 gave me the sketch to work with and Stampin' Celebration Challenge #40 gave me the colors.

I'll admit I had a hard time trying to get the right balance with the colors at first, but I really like how the card turned out. :)
Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Blossom Petals

Tonight we had our monthly Red Hot Stampers meeting, and we also had a card swap using anything from the new Occasions Mini.  I loved all the designs everyone came up with.  It's definitely a great way to get a variety of cards!   These are the cards I made for the swap.

I used sponges to get the colors on the flower petals.

Yes, it's that time of year ~ Valentine's Day will soon be here!  With my next workshop coming up one of the cards requested was a Valentine's Day card, so this is the sample I came up with.  We'll see if I use this card or come up with another idea or two.  As always, I want to give credit where credit is due, so thank you to Amy Smith for this idea.
