Happy Hedgehog ~ A Stampin' Up! Card

I'm posting a cute card made with the stamp set Happy Hedgehogs. I made a card using these colors and this stamp set a while back and thought I'd carry something similar into another card.

Hello Fall ~ A Fun Stampers Journey Card

Who doesn't love the colors that fall brings?
Most of us do and I had to create another fall card while the season is here.
I started following a new sketch challenge FB group called Journey Sketches and couldn't resist creating this quick and simple thank you card.  Plus I needed a card for my October stamp a stacks and this sketch was perfect for whipping up a card!
There are so many ways to color leaves, but for this card I used three different ink colors from Fun Stampers Journey (listed below).  I used sponges to dab the color onto the stamp starting with the lightest and dabbing it all over the stamp.  Then I added the second color and dabbed it around the edges making sure I left some yellow in the middle.  The last and darkest color I dabbed just around the edges of the stamp.  Does that make sense?  I hope so!  After I cut out the leaf (with a die, of course!) I spritzed it with Sparkle Silk that was mixed with 70% rubbing alcohol to make it shimmer all over.  My camera just didn't want to pick that up this time...bummer! lol

Sentimental Prints Christmas Thank You ~ A Fun Stampers Journey Card

It's that time of year...time to write some thank yous!  My hubby works for the USPS as a rural mail carrier.  Let's just say that he is BUSY (has been since September) and when people take the time to give him a gift on his mail route he really appreciates it!  And the ever loving wife that I am (who also happens to makes cards) has to help him out with that right?  Plus I get the benefit of all of his goodies too so I suppose I can sacrifice a little! ;)  Every year I whip up a handful of cards and for the past few years I've been making 3x3 cards.

I just can't resist the Bloom Benefits called Pretty Flakes Accents!  I LOVE these snowflakes, so it's a good thing I earned a LOT of them!  I actually had enough to put them on my hot chocolate project from my November open house, on two sets of stamp a stack cards for December and all of these 3x3 cards.  Love that I get Bloom Benefits for every $50 that I spend with Fun Stampers Journey! :)

I think I made about 47 of these small cards.  Usually I have a LOT of gifts on hand before I get them done, but this year I've been ahead of the game...yea me! :)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

The Smoky Mountains in Watercolor

Have you ever been to the Smoky Mountains?  If not you're missing out on something beautiful!  We had a chance to go there again not too long ago to celebrate my hubby's 50th birthday a little early.  My In-laws invited all of my hubby's siblings and spouses for a wonderful and relaxing vacation to Tennessee.  We stayed in a cabin that was pretty high up and we had three different levels in our cabin that we could look out on every morning and evening.  We had a couple of beautiful sunsets to watch that's for sure!

Since I definitely needed to write a thank you to them I thought, "Why not try to watercolor the Smoky Mountains for my thank you card".  Now I can't say they look like this at all, but for my first try I didn't think they turned out too bad.  And let's just say I added things here and there that I wasn't planning on adding and did a bit of trimming by the time it was done! lol  Now I can't forget to add that the sketch for this card was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches #237 and I turned it on its side.  It doesn't match the sketch exactly either because I trimmed it down more than I originally planned on because there were just some areas that I did not like, so off they went!
The two mountain ranges in the back were made using the same color even though they look different.  Since the sunset was pink when I added the blue it turned a lavender color.  Then it turned purple the next time because the lavender was there and when I added more blue it turned purple.  Then I mixed a bit of blue and green for the middle mountain range.  I added a bit  more green to the mixture and yet a lot more for the final front mountain range.  It was definitely a live and learn (really paint and learn) experience for this picture, but I wasn't about to start over after all the work I had put into it!

Yes, believe it or not these are the colors I used.  By mixing them I came up with colors that were not anything like the original.  I have to say it was pretty fun seeing the colors that were made each time I added a new color.

Wonderland Thank You

Today I want to show you a bunch of 3x3 thank yous that I made...52 to be exact!  My hubby is a rural mail carrier, so when he gets a gift from someone on his mail route I want to be sure to send a thank you note.  They are always saying thank you for the great service, but we want them to know we appreciate them thinking of him at Christmas!

I got the idea for these beautiful cards from a fellow demonstrator and couldn't resist using them (just making them smaller) because I love the colors and the sparkle!  I'm not sure if it's her original idea or not, but I'll give her the credit until I know otherwise. :)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Your Kindness...

It's been a while since I've posted so I figured I'd better get another card up!  I don't know what's up with me this week, but I've been very lax in my stamping!  I think I just need a break every once in a while and will be ready soon enough. :)  This is one of the cards I had the ladies make at last month's stamp a stack.  It was fun to see how each one turned out a little differently because of the way they put the swirls on.

I think this card was the hardest of the bunch, but only because they needed to remember what colors to use on which stamp and when to stamp off so the color wasn't too dark on the flowers.  They all really liked the card though. :)

Yup another picture.  I like seeing more than one pic of a card so I throw in a few myself.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Thank You Stars

It's time for another Friday Mashup challenge and this week challenge is from Lisa.  Her challenge for us is...

Create a project with "Stars."
Create a set of "Thank you Cards with Matching Envelopes".
Or Mash it Up and create a set of "Thank you Cards & Envelopes using Stars."

Believe it or not I hardly have any stamps with stars on them.  I had to dig through my sets and found one in a sale-a-bration set Banner Blast.  I've been seeing a lot of cards made using this set, but they all use the banner.  Not me since I'm all about stars today. lol  I decided to make 3x3 cards since I think they're so cute and if I don't use them myself I can give them away as a gift for someone else to use. :)

Don't forget to check out what the other designers made HERE, and to play along if you get the chance!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Thanks So Much

I'm finally back to blogging after taking a bit of a much needed break.  I've still been making plenty of cards, I just haven't been taking pics of all of them or posting them.  I did take some pics that I want to show you today though.  These are the cards I made as thanks yous for the gifts my husband received on his mail route this year.  I wanted to make cards that were small and simple.  Well, they were small, but not as simple as I had hoped.  Not that they were that hard to make either, just a bit of coloring.  I think I made about thirty-two of them...and managed to get all the thank yous written too...whew!!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Sponged Field Flowers x 2

Today I have a couple of cards to show you, or should I say one card made with two different colors.  Does that even make sense? lol  Anyway, I started with this week's Try Stampin' on Tuesday's sketch challenge to make a sympathy card.  Since I also love the colors on this month's Stampin' Celebration challenge I figured I could combine them.  However when I was done with my card I thought it was just too dark for a sympathy card.  Don't get me wrong I LOVE the colors, just wasn't sure if they were right for that kind of card.  So I made it into a thank you card instead, and it's going to a fellow demo.  Hope she likes it. ;)  Since I still needed a sympathy card I figured I could just change up the colors to lighten it up...so that's what I did.  You can see that one at the bottom of this post. :)  Not sure which one I like better...

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Good morning...it's time to see my take the this week's Red Hot Stampers' sketch challenge.  I finally broke into my Snow Flurry Bigz Die to use for this sketch.  I did change it up a bit because I didn't want to cover up any part of the snow flake, so I put the words underneath it. :)  Don't forget to check out what the other Red Hot Stampers made using this sketch.  Check them out here.  And if you're really motivated why not give the sketch a try. :)

Thank You Carnation

Today's card is a thank you for a couple that has been very kind and generous.  One of the things I received was a beautiful bouquet of flowers, and I wanted to copy one of the flowers from it.  Well, one was a carnation and that's my favorite flower...and I've made a few of them lately!  Since I've been trying to enter sketch challenges I used the Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge for my card's design.

Halloween

Since today is Halloween I'm going to post a few pics of our Halloween tradition along with one little card I made.  I never really had my kids dress up and do trick or treating a whole lot while they were little.  A couple of times I did sew outfits that they were able to use as pajamas once Halloween was done. What we really got into was carving pumpkins...and sometimes making pumpkin seeds.  We did that this year...yummy!  Anyway, here are a few pics for you to enjoy...

I made this 3x3 thank you for my upline Glenda who is always so willing to let us borrow her stuff when we need to...thank you!  I don't have any stamping stuff that is Halloweenish (not sure that's even a word, but I'm using it), so I figured I could make a couple of pumpkins out of punches to put on cards that I've seen around and thought were pretty cute.

My pumpkin is the daschund, Erica's is the bat, Ryan's is the spider & web and Rachel's is the "haunted" house.

I had to get my two doggies sitting by the daschund pumpkin! :)  They look so obedient and like they enjoy having their pics taken...ha ha, I wish!  My daughters were bribing them with food to get them to sit still like that. They are really longingly staring at the food being held right by the camera! lol

Thanks for looking and have a great day!
