RHSSC16 - Just for You

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope your day is filled with family, friends and fun...and of course celebrating our Savior's birth. My sister-in-law posted a song by Selah on Facebook Christmas Eve day and it's been in my head.  Listen to it here if you have the time.  It's a great song!   Now on to this week's Red Hot Stampers challenge.  I knew I wanted something with snowflakes because that's what we should be having right now in this part of Michigan, so I quickly whipped this card up using one of my favorite colors and a new punch I finally bought.  Make sure you click on the Red Hot Stampers link to check out more cards for this design...or even play along if you'd like. :)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Christmas Ornaments

Well, I've been busy the past couple of days working on a few ornaments for gifts.  Yup, I'm definitely a little crazy for taking these on...and I still have way too many to do!  I saw the idea on Splitcoaststampers and decided to make one about a month ago for my Red Hot Stampers Secret Santa exchange.  Of course my ornament die is a lot smaller than the one they used on Splitcoast, but I HAD to try it anyway.  On my first attempt I used vellum paper and a brayer to color both sides different colors.  The vellum was too thick and it kept popping apart so I went through some of my old supplies and found a bunch of  mulberry paper that I had never used.  I had a huge piece of white so I cut it up the right size (enough for 18 pieces...which I cut with one run through the Big Shot!) and went a little crazy with the different colors.  Now I need to get busy making boxes so I can give them away...

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

It's time for another Red Hot Stampers sketch challenge and this is my take on this week's challenge.  Nope, it's not anything for Christmas because I needed a break from that after dealing with all of my Christmas cards yesterday!  I actually made this for my niece whose birthday is coming up just after Christmas.

To see other demonstrators' cards on this challenge click here.  If you'd like, go ahead and play along so we can see what you come up with.

Thinking of You at Christmas

As I am writing this it is actually snowing outside. :)  Yes, I like the snow.  I figure if it's going to be cold out, it might as well be cold enough to have some snow that covers all the brown that's outside and help brighten things up.  Let's just hope if it melts (which it probably will) we get more back in time for Christmas. :)  Now on to today's card... It is my last Christmas card to show you from my December stamp a stack.  I have to say I really enjoyed coming up with my cards for this month's stamp a stack.  Didn't think I would because I get SO sick of working on my Christmas cards.

Lovely as a Tree - Christmas

Today's card is one I couldn't resist making for this month's stamp a stack.  It's pretty quick and easy to make, yet elegant.  I've seen different variations on this one, but my card was specifically inspired by Audra Bonner.

Christmas is Snow Much Fun

Today's card is one that's totally different than I normally make, but I wanted to give something new a try.  In order to do that I needed to see what cards other ladies were making with this set.  I saw a lot of cards I liked and picked what I liked from the different cards and put it together on my card.

Season's Greetings

This week I'm going to show you the cards I had for my December Stamp a Stack.  If  I don't do it this week Christmas will be here and gone before I know it!  Since I won some Not Quite Navy ribbon playing Bingo and haven't used this color a lot I thought I would give it a try and see if I could make a Christmas card with it.  I have to say I'm pretty pleased with it...especially since I didn't make one change and whipped it together pretty fast.  Why can't more of my cards go together like this?! lol

RHSSC14

Well, it's Sunday so anyone who regularly checks out my blog knows I'll at least have something on here for the  Red Hot Stampers sketch challenge.  Anyway, I've been wanting to try this technique after seeing it a couple of times and had to look it up to see what it's called. It's called the spotlight technique...makes sense doesn't it. It was kind of a bugger to get it lined up just right using the oval punch, so next time I do this technique I think I'll make it a square or circle.  I really wanted to use the oval shaped embossing folder though and glad I did because I liked how it turned out. :)

RHSSC13

It's Sunday and that means it's time for another Red Hot Stampers sketch challenge so here is my take on it.  I started with my card positioned like the sketch, but when it was time to add the sentiment there wasn't enough room...so I rotated the card and decided I liked it that way. :)  For those of you who are coming to my stamp a stack this week, this is one of the Christmas cards we are making.

Head on over to the Red Hot Stampers to see other demonstrators' cards to go with this sketch.  You can also play along yourself, so why not give it a try!

Just wanted to show a closer view of the snowflake, plus the soft suede in this picture looks a lot better. :)

Red Hot Christmas Party and Secret Santa Reveal

Today I'd like to show a few pictures of things I got from my Secret Santa this year.  When we find out who we have, we send out gifts to each other for a few weeks before our Red Hot Stampers Christmas Party.  Always a fun thing to be a part of!  My first gift came in the mail and it was a knitted washcloth.  Love these kind of washcloths!

The next week my son grabbed something off my freezer in the garage and there was a plate with some delicious baked goodies.  I'm not sure what they're called, but they tasted like cinnamon rolls to me...just a smaller version.  If you look close enough you can see one in a baggy.  I took a bite before I took the picture...oops! ;)  But it was yummy!

The third week I got a box in the mail and opened it up. It was kind of bunched up like this and I wasn't sure what it was...

...so I pulled it out there was a pretty ribbon/lace necklace!

Then we had our party and do you think I had any idea who had me?  No!  Everyone else seemed to know, but not me!  Guess I really need to pay attention to what people say because my Secret Santa is quite the sewer, and apparently she had been talking all about it at an earlier meeting.  Guess my head was in the clouds!  Nothing new there though! lol

She gave me a bag full of goodies...all with cute little sayings on the gift tags.  The gift you can see the most in this picture is the cute apron she sewed for me!

One thing I didn't get a picture of was all of the yummy food everyone brought!  Yeah, I left there full!  Glenda also had some makes and takes for us while we were there, plus we played a funny game passing gifts "left" or "right" and Bingo!  Always a fun time at the Red Hot Stampers Christmas party!
