Greetings Bouquet ~ A Fun Stampers Journey Card

Today's card was inspired by sketch #327 for Try Stampin' or Not on Tuesday.  They have great sketches over there if you need a little help to get creative every now and then!  After I looked at the sketch I noticed that I had a couple of "scrap" pieces of pierced watercolor paper sitting on my desk and figured they went with the sketch so I might as well put them to good use!

I stamped the flowers with FSJ Clear Pigment Ink and embossed it with white.  Next I used a couple of Journey Splashes to do a watercolor wash in the background.  Usually when I do the emboss resist technique I'm sponging ink onto my card stock, but this time I did a watercolor wash.

Make sure you head over to Try Stampin's blog HERE to see what all the other designers created.  We'd love to see what you create with this sketch if you get a chance to play along. :)

Best Wishes ~ A Fun Stampers Journey Card

Happy Thursday, Everyone!  I have another card to show you today that the ladies made at my September stamp a stacks.  Thanks to my great upline I was able to make this card.  I had the stamp set, but only a few Fun Stampers Journey ink pads at the time and just a bit of paper too.  She invited me over and I made this at her house.  She also let me borrow what I needed for my stamp a stacks. :)  How awesome is that!

This is definitely more of a spring colored card, but I thought it was so pretty so I went with it. :)  It could be used for a wedding or birthday card I think.

It was pretty easy to create this card.  I just embossed the flowers with white embossing powder on Butter Cream card stock and on a separate piece I embossed the Eiffel Tower.  Using the sponges I rubbed the leaves with Sweet Pear ink and the flowers and tower with Bubble Gum.  The only "kind of" time consuming part was cutting out the tower...and there's actually a die for it! lol Whoops...guess I need to think about getting that!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Evergreen in Pink

Today I have a fun Christmas card for you that I hope you'll enjoy.  I used Pool Party and Pink Pirouette to create a soft winter scene on this week's card for 'Tis the Season's inspiration challenge.  The first cards I made up just did NOT work.  I pulled the ornaments I made off the cards and used another stamp set to create baby cards.  They turned out really cute, but I forgot to take pics of them.  Maybe I'll post them next week sometime after I get home from this year's Stampin' Up! convention. :)

To create this card I stamped my trees in VersaMark, then Pink Pirouette and poured clear embossing powder on them.  Once I heated them I sponged both on the top and the bottom in Pool Party.  On the top I punched out a circle so I could have a shimmering moon effect.  I sponged lightly around the moon, then worked my way from the outer edges in toward the moon always starting on the edges and moving in so those parts got darker and it stayed a bit lighter the closer I got to the moon.

To create the "hills" on the bottom I used scrap paper and moved it around and sponged in different areas to get the hilly look.

Make sure you head over to 'Tis the Season HERE to check out the other great cards that were inspired by this challenge.  Come play along if you have time.  We'd love to see what you create!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Merry!

Today's card is a fun one that I made for 'Tis the Season's 30th Christmas card challenge.  As you can see this week we have a color challenge for you.  I really liked working with these colors, that's for sure!  Make sure you head over to 'Tis the Season's blog HERE to see what the other designers made...pretty nice cards!  Oh, and don't forget to play along.  Christmas will be here before you know it!

I can't forget to say where I got my design for this card...it's from Stampin' Celebration.  I don't get to play with other challenges very often and this is one I used to play with pretty regularly.  They have a great sketch so I couldn't resist using it this time. :)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Fall French Foliage

Is it Friday already?  Wow has this week flown by!  I won't complain about that. :)  Well since it's Friday I have another card for the Friday Mashup.  This week Heidi brings us another fun mashup challege...

Create a project using the "Sketch".
Create a project with "Leaves".
or Mash it Up! and create a project with "Leaves using the Sketch".

I had to use my favorite fall set for today's card even though it's retired.  This set creates a beautiful card all the time. :)  I embossed the leaves in gold and fussy cut them out.  Then using the newest In colors I sponged in each of the leaves and, of course, had to spritz them with smooch spritz.

Make sure you head over to the Friday Mashup HERE to be see what the other designer's created and to play long too. :)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Blooming with Hope For You

Well it's been a week since I've posted, but I've certainly been busy!  Painting, ripping off wallpaper, mudding, ripping up carpet and padding, pulling nails and staples out of the floor, sanding....you name it, I probably did it! lol  We have plenty to do yet, but it's been a good feeling getting as much done as we did.  Now on to today's card...It's for the Friday Mashup and I'm hosting it this week.  Here's what we're doing for challenge #176...

Create a project using the "Sketch".
Create a project with "Emboss Resist".
or Mash it Up! and create an "Emboss Resist project with the above Sketch".

Believe it or not this stamp set isn't what I even started with.  Then I thought I'd use the big flower in Bloom with Hope.  Nope, didn't end up using that either and this is what I finally ended up with.  Most of the card is pretty simple, but the embossing and fussy cutting is what took the longest.  It didn't help that I was working on everything at my kitchen table and my craft room is downstairs.  Talk about frustrating since I like everything in its place!

Make sure you stop by the Friday Mashup HERE to check out the other fun cards and play along too. :)

I had to take a pic like this so you could see the dimension.  Some of the flowers were popped and others were flush to the card stock.  To do the sponging I started with Blackberry Bliss and moved my way in making sure I didn't do it as dark the farther in I got.  Then I sponged Hello Honey.  On the open flowers I started in the middle and worked my way out.  I always sprtiz after I've sponged on my flowers because it brings out the color a little more and blends it together a little bit too...and of course it shimmers. :)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Corner Garden Display

Today's card is a little different than my norm, but I still like it. :)  I know, the top right of the card is a little bare, but I decided to wait until I knew what I was going to use my card for before putting words on it.  And since it's Friday any of you that follow me regularly know this card is for the Friday Mashup challenge.  This week's fun challenge is from Lynda and it is...

Create a project with " Melon Mambo, Wild Wasabi, Basic Black & Whisper White".
Create a project with a "Wood Element".
or Mash it Up! and create a " Project using the colors above & a Wood element".

I did say the first time I used the Corner Garden stamp I would emboss it instead of color it and that's exactly what I did!  I used the VersaMark Pad and stamped it on Basic Black card stock and embossed it with white embossing powder.  Then I did the same thing except on Whisper White and carefully cut out the flowers and leaves from the white card stock.  Then I used my sponges to color in each of my flowers.   I could have colored it with Blendabilities markers, but I love sponging so I opted for that to get Melon Mambo and Wild Wasabi on my card.  I also ran one piece of Whisper White card stock through the Woodgrain embossing folder to get the wood element part of the challenge.

Make sure you head over to the Friday Mashup challenge HERE to see what the other designers created for this challenge.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!
