Stampin' Up! ~ CAS Gift of Love

Today's card is a CAS one inspired by Freshly Made Sketches #238.  This was a very quick card to put together and I love that about it!  Most of my cards take me WAY too long to make, but I enjoy it so I can't resist it sometimes.  It is nice to whip one out very quickly every now and then though. :)

This card was as simple as cutting out two pieces of whisper white card stock, inking the outline of the stamp and the happy birthday with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, Stamping the flowers with Peekaboo Peach and the stems and buds with Pear Pizzazz.  I added a little water to the lid of Peekabook Peach (with ink already in the lid) and using a paint brush flicked some color on the card stock.  I added a few pearls, put the card stock I stamped on onto the card base and I was done!

I can't add the Peekaboo Peach yet, but will be able to as soon as the catalog goes live...I hope!!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Simple Traveler - Stampin' Up!

Today I have a CAS card for you that was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches #227.   I knew when I saw the squares exactly what technique I wanted to do.  I just had to figure out what stamps I wanted to use.

Since I'm short on masculine cards right now I used the set Traveler and just two colors...Soft Suede and Very Vanilla.  Easy, right? :)

I stamped the ship first, then the train and added the tiny "happy birthday" just above the smoke coming out of the train. I used the honeycomb embossing folder on the strip of Soft Suede that's on the side of the card.

A close up showing that I popped the train piece so it didn't look funny overlapping the other square piece.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Beautiful Butterfly

I have a second card to share with you today!  Two in one day is amazing since I'm lucky to do two a week! lol  Anyway it was my niece's birthday yesterday on Thanksgiving so I definitely had to have a card for her.  I also made her a chocolate cake along with the pumpkin, French apple and pecan pies that I made...yummy!  Making the cake was extra work, but definitely worth it to see the smile on her face. :)  Since I made her card yesterday morning just before heading to lunch I had to have a little help.  I checked out the sketch challenges I follow and decided to use Freshly Made Sketches challenge #214 and Color Me... #99.  I think the two challenges helped make a beautiful card.  I loved it even more because lately most of my cards have been  fall, winter or Christmas so to get a bit of spring and summer back was nice. :)

I love Freshly Made Sketches CAS sketch this week!  This card was so easy to whip up using it.

Love, love, love these colors together!  If I have time I just might  need to do a little brayering with them.  I do have to make a bunch of thank yous for orders so maybe... :)

Thanks for looking and have  a great day!

Apple Blossom Birthday

Today's card was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches #179.  It's a clean and simple sketch and I love that about it.  I was in the mood to do a little water coloring...if that's what you call it when using an aqua painter. lol  Either way I enjoyed it even though it's a little time consuming.

I used Melon Mambo, So Saffron, Wild Wasabi and Sahara Sand ink pads to color in my flowers.  I stamped a little on the inside and you can see it peeking out of the top left corner in the first picture I took of my card.

Here is the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches that I told you I liked so much.  Make sure you check out the great cards by the design team if you haven't had a chance yet.  It's always fun to see how one sketch inspires so many different creations.

Guy Greetings Birthday

Wow it's been a while since I've posted anything!  I guess that's what happens when life gets busy!  Today I have a masculine card to show you that I'm doing for this month's stamp a stacks.  It's pretty clean and simple and that's the way I want all of my cards this month...ok maybe all but one. ;)  I've got to give the ladies a break every now and then and make the cards relatively simple. :)

My inspiration comes from a couple of different challenges.  Make sure you check them out.  Lots of great inspiration from each of the design team members!  The first is Freshly Made sketches.  Their sketches are clean and simple and like I said that's what this card is all about.

The colors come from Sunday Stamps color challenge.  The colors are saffron, black, white and rust.  I used Stampin' Up! colors so they are So Saffron, Basic Black, Whisper White and Cajun Craze.

A quick peek inside shows just a little bit of stamping.  I like to put just a touch of something inside my cards because I don't always have a sentiment in there especially if I've put Happy Birthday on the outside already.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Brightly Blooming

Is it sunny or is it rainy?  That's what it's like here today in Michigan.  Wonderful sun, then pouring rain, and as I'm typing this warm sunshine again...oh, change that.  Looks like it's about to rain again. lol  Today I have a card for two different challenges and I'm excited that I had some time to do it today!

My colors come from the Colour Me...playful challenge.  I've been following them for a bit now and was determined to play along.  Love the colors they have for this week, however I couldn't figure out how I was going to add in the color Melon Mambo.  It just didn't look right where the black strips are, and I felt it would have been too bright where the gold embossing is.  That's when I decided to sponge the tips and a bit of the center of the flower that I had colored in with Daffodil Delight Blendabilities.

I also decided to play along with Freshly Made Sketches.  It's a nice CAS sketch and I was determined to keep my card that way.  For those of you who know me I tend to over-do my cards, so it was a bit of a challenge, but I think I managed it this time. :)

I decided not to put a sentiment on my card yet.  Who knows what I might need it for.  I need a few of those kinds of card around so if something comes up all I have to do is stamp the sentiment on and it's ready to be sent off.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Thinking of You

What a day I had yesterday raking and mowing leaves and picking up a TON of apples that fell on the ground from our apple tree.  I actually enjoyed it though. :) There's nothing like working outside in the fresh air and getting a bit of exercise.  It was nice having my daughter out helping me pick up the apples too.  She only got hit a couple of times on the head when we were picking good ones from the tree to make dried apples with. lol  Believe it or not I still have quite a bit of flowers blooming here in Michigan.  A lot of pansies and snapdragons.  Also my skunk plants (I don't know what they're actual name is, but they kind of smell like a skunk so that's what I nicknamed them. lol) and one rose that I cut off and brought inside.  Looking at my flowers made me want to make a card with one, so I used the Freshly Made Sketches 111 for today's card and put a flower on it. :)  If you want to know how I made this flower check out my post HERE.  I used a scallop punch instead of deckle scissors though.

Lovely as a Tree Anniversary

Today's card is inspired by the sketch challenge Freshly Made Sketches.  Yesterday was my 23rd anniversary and I had to have a card for my hubby.  I don't want to be accused of making cards for everyone but someone in my family! lol  We went to P.F. Changs for dinner, a movie, then to FYI for some ice cream...well, yogurt really.  Yummy!!  Anyway, I used this set for another masculine card a couple of weeks ago and it turned out great, so I thought I'd make another one using the same technique...triple layer.

I know it doesn't look like much, but there are trees on the inside of the card.  I like to stamp it lightly on the inside, then write over it or stamp over it with a darker ink.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Stippled Blossoms

Today's card is a clean and simple one using Freshly Made Sketches #109.  For some reason I wanted to make it in red and green.  Maybe because I've been working on Christmas cards and wanted to use the traditional colors since I haven't used them on any of my cards yet..who knows. lol

Can't forget the inside of the card. :)

Freshly Made French Foliage

Just a quick post for today since I haven't posted anything for the past couple of days.  I wanted to enter a card into Freshly Made Sketches, and since fall colors are in full swing I wanted to make a card with all the wonderful colors I saw while driving to and from church.

I couldn't resist adding color to the inside of the card. :)

Freshly Made Flower Shop

Today I'm playing with Freshly Made Sketches for the first time.  I've been following them for a couple of weeks and thought it was time I played along.  I finally bought the Flower Shop stamp set after having the punch for quite a while.  It kind of reminds me of the flower I use so much from the Fabulous Florets set except I don't have to cut these flowers out!   This card went together pretty fast! :)
