Summer Days ~ A Stampin' Up! Card

I love the beauty of fall, but I have to admit this year I'm not quite as ready for winter to come. That's why I'm posting this Summer Days card. It brings me back to the warm and SUNNY days we had this summer!

Arr...Catey ~ A Fun Stampers Journey Card

Today's card uses an ATS stamp that is retiring at the end of June.  I actually got it because I love the Happy Birthday! sentiment that was with it.  I use it All. The. Time!  I figured I need to make at least one card with the piratey cat.  My nephew's birthday was Sunday so I figured that would be a good card to make for him.

Turtley Awesome ~ A Fun Stampers Journey Card

How fun is today's card!  I think most of you know my favorite color to use on a card is blue, but did you actually know my favorite color is green?  And today I got to combine them to create this fun card for my nephew's birthday...and it's Turtley Awesome! lol  Just a little fun pun for you. :)  I can't believe I haven't played with this set yet!  Guess I didn't have a reason to until now.

This card was pretty easy to create.  I did do just a bit of fussy cutting, but dies are available for this set if you hate fussy cutting!! :) To create my background I did a watercolor wash using Journey Splashes (Lemon Grass and Turbo Teal).  I also used the same Journey Splashes to color in my turtle and seaweed after I embossed them in white (just a note that I did all of this on watercolor paper).

Lemon Grass
Kiwi Slice
Blue Lagoon
Turbo Teal

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Rainbow Bubbles Birthday ~ A Fun Stampers Journey Card

Today's card is inspired by Try  Stampin' on Tuesday's sketch challenge #313.  It's also inspired by a technique, but I'll be posting more about that later this week with a few more cards.  As usual I tend to stretch the sketch a little bit, but I just wasn't liking any of the flowers I made to put on my cards...beautiful flowers is the optional theme for today's card and mine just weren't beautiful, so I had to go with some rainbow fish instead. lol

This is the sketch and you can see why I say I stretched it a bit! lol  Make sure you head over to Try Stampin' on Tuesday HERE to check out all the other great cards using this sketch.  If you get a chance to play along we'd love to see what you create! :)

Begin Adventure ~ A Fun Stampers Journey Card

Last Friday I needed to quickly whip up a card for my nephew's 5th birthday...I think it was his 5th! ;)  Me whipping up a card just doesn't happen.  I'm a slow stamper and a bit of a perfectionist, but I grabbed the airplane stamp from the Begin Adventure ATS set and managed to come up with a quick CAS card. :)

I used the brayer with Pool Play ink and put it on the embossing folder Above the Clouds and ran it through the Journey Platinum Machine creating a quick blue sky and white cloud background.

Then I stamped the airplane and Celebrate from the stamp set Cake Time using Black Licorice.  I made sure to push down nice and hard since the paper was embossed.  No problems...whew!  I didn't take a pic, but of course I stamped Happy Birthday on the inside.

Hope you enjoyed my quick CAS boy birday card. :)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Are you Hungry?

Are you hungry?  I'm not at the moment, but having a juicy burger off the grill on a warm summer day sounds good!  It makes me think of the 4th of July for some reason.  I actually made these cards for my nephews' birthdays.  I usually change up their cards a little bit, but wasn't sure how to change up this one.  I have to admit I didn't come up with the burger on my own at all.  I didn't copy any specific person's card, just looked at a bunch of different cards that had hamburgers and put these together using what I liked from all the different punch art hamburgers.  My card design is from another Red Hot Stamper challenge.  Not what I normally do, but I still think they turned out cute enough for my nephews. :)

Need for Speed Wallet

I've been taking a bit of a break from blogging, but it's time to start again.  Today's "card" is for my nephew's birthday.  I've made these before, but thought I'd post another one since I think they're so cool. :)  I stamped and cut out the image, then taped it on the wallet front.  Then I run it through the Big Shot to get the textured look.  Of course I have to fill it with a bunch of fake stuff, however there is some real stuff in there even though you can't see it. :)

Another thing I want to add is what I talked about last week...  I'm a guest designer for the Inky Fingers Club and would love to have you join.  I'll be featuring sponging and have lots of pics and instructions on how to make four different scenes on four cards.  I'm not the only one designing, so you'll see a lot of great things out there!  Click HERE to register.  If you're one of the first fifty to sign up you get an Early Bird Discount of $19.95.  Here's some more info...

Little Green Tractor

Today's card is definitely not the norm of what I make, but it was my nephew's first birthday.  I had to make something special for him!  I know one of his brothers loves tractors, so I thought maybe he would too.  I did a little researching on punch art to find a tractor, pulled out my punches and got busy.  As a matter of fact I was in such a hurry to get it done and take a pic before I left for his party that I totally forgot to put on the steering wheel!  I found the pieces sitting on my craft table later on. lol

Birthday Wallet

It's birthday time again and this time it's for one of my nephews.  I always make purses for the girls, so I thought I'd come up with more than a card for the boys this year.  That means it's wallet time for them. I love how it turned out!  Hopefully my nephew will enjoy it too.  Not so sure guys are quite as excited as girls about this kind of stuff, but you never know. ;)

The same tradition...$1.00 in their card.  Yup, I'm cheap, but it still makes them happy at this age! lol  I decided to make a counterfeit credit card, Michigan driver's license and a library card.  Yes, all fake and just for the fun of it.  I wish I could show you the picture I put on his license because it's hilarious (at least I think it is), but I value my privacy (yeah, that's why I have a blog! lol)...ok, the little bit of privacy that I have, so I won't post any pictures of other people without permission.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Nope, I didn't take any measurements for this project.  I just eyeballed it and went with the flow.

Mad "because I missed your b-day" Dog

Seems like I'm a little bit into punch art lately, but it's really only the second one I've done in a while.  I needed a card for my nephew whose birthday was a few days ago...and it was late! :(  I know he loves dogs, so I thought I'd put a funny little saying on the card for him that went with the dog.  This is definitely a case, but I'm not sure who to give the credit too because I saw a bunch of them out there...I'm just glad there are so many talented ladies out there making things with punches! :)

Trains and Trucks...

I'm finally getting another card in for the Friday Mashup challenge!  I seem to always miss the deadline for this one. :(  Anyway, I looked at the colors and theme and wondered if I could get them to work for my nephew who is turning two soon.  I don't have a lot of kids' stamps, so I had to dig through my retired stuff and came up with this set that I think is fun for the toddler age.  So I guess I did get something to come together...and pretty quickly too, so that makes it even better! :)

I had to show it with the envelope too.  I don't stamp on those very often and decided to give it a try once. :)

Just for fun I always hide a dollar for my nieces and nephews somewhere in their card.  I hear they're sometimes ready to pull the card apart to find it!  I wonder how long a dollar will keep them excited? ;)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Between Blogger not working for a few days and trying to get some work done in my yard before the rain came I've managed to be quite the slacker when it comes to posting. :(  And the card that I'm starting with is a lot different than the norm.  I needed a b-day card for my nephew and wasn't sure what to make him at all.  I know he likes riding his dirt bike and came up with this...  I love the colors.  Not sure a 10 or 11 year old boy will, but it's what he got!

Lightning McQueen

Happy Birthday, Andrew!  Last Thursday was my nephew's birthday, but they celebrated it yesterday with grandparents and a great-grandma.  A few weeks ago I made Mator for his brother, and said I would make Lightning McQueen for him.

Just like Mator, this card was a LOT of work, but so worth it!  I did a lot of cutting and re-cutting to come up with something I was happy with.  As usual I always want to give credit where credit is due.  I got the idea for this from Julia Rae Brokhoff.  Thank you Julia!

Mator

Happy Birthday to my nephew, Thomas.  He had his b-day yesterday and I needed something he would like.  This is a total case from Julia Rae Brokhoff.  I don't know how she came up with this, but I'm so glad she did!  For those of you who are Stampin' Up! Demonstrators you can view her card here.

Nope, I'm not even going to try and put the recipe down here!  All I'll say is it was a lot of work, but worth it!
Thanks for looking and have a great day!
