Today's card was inspired by Try a Sketch on Tuesday sketch #644 and created for a friend's b-day...and yes, it's a little late! I'm sure you can tell what her favorite color is though just by looking at it!
I love doing a bit of watercolor on the cards I make, and I think this hydrangea turned out great! After I made the card I started to wonder if there is any such thing as an orange hydrangea because I've never seen one. Since I was curious I had to check it out and I'd have to say they don't exist. Maybe they can spray them to appear that way, but I'd say that's about it.
As you can tell from our sketch below I didn't follow it exactly. I rotated it 90 degrees to the left. That's what worked the best with the flower I wanted to use.
Make sure you check out what all of the other designers created HERE. If you get a chance to play along we'd love to see what you create!
Thanks for looking and have a great day!

DeleteWouldn't it be perfect if you could get an orange hydrangea. I would have done the same thing but you saved me from looking up an orange hydrangea; but my daughter always reminds me "you can do anything you want in papercrafting" so I do as you did. Beautiful card and love the sentiment
ReplyDeleteYes, it would be perfect to have orange hydrangeas! And I totally agree with your daughter...we can create what ever our minds comes up with!
DeleteBut in the stamping world, we can make flowers whatever color we want, lol! LOVE the orange...Nice job!
ReplyDeleteYou're right, Melissa! We can create what we like in the stamping world!
DeleteI just LOVE the color on your card, Sara! And how perfectly your design worked for the rotated sketch.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Dena!
DeleteWell, I am glad you didn't stop and google before you made your orange hydrangea, because this is so beautiful.
