The Open Sea ~ Father's Day Card #3

Father's Day is right around the corner.  Well not quite, but I don't want to be late with a card because it will be here before I know it!  The design for this card is from Stamping 411 Challenge 205.  As soon as I saw it I had this idea running through my mind and finally had a chance to sit down and make it.  SUO Challenge 20 is all about celebrating Father's Day, so this is definitely the card for that challenge too.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Stamp Set:  The Open Sea
Card Stock:  Night of Navy, Basic Gray & Whisper White
Classic Stampin' Pad:  Night of Navy
Embossing Folder:  Square Lattice

Can you tell I love sponging?  I think I do it on most of my cards.
I just like how it can help soften and blend pieces together a little better.

Inspired By Nature Challenge

There's nothing like needing five cards by the end of the week for a stamp a stack and only having one card ready at the beginning of the week!  Thank goodness for all the challenges out there.  I needed some help with design and color to start getting my creative juices flowing...so I looked at a few challenges and used Stamping 411 challenge #204 for my design and Stampin' Celebration Challenge #52 for my colors.

I kinda like the close up too so I had to throw in this picture! :)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Stamp Set:  Inspired by Nature
Card Stock:  Rose Red, Regal Rose, Daffodil Delight & Whisper White
Classic Stampin' Pads:  Regal Rose, Daffodil Delight & Wild Wasabi
Embossing Folders:  Square Lattice & Perfect Polka Dots
Punches:  Definitely Decorative & Word Window
Ribbon:  1/4" Grosgrain in Whisper White
Jewels:  Basic Pearls
I find it's pretty hard to get the ink on this stamp set without getting everywhere it doesn't belong.  I used sponges to get color on the stamp for the flowers and it was much easier this way than using the ink pad directly.

Gerbera Thank You

Every Christmas my husband gets a bunch of gifts from people on his mail route, and I always make Christmas thank yous for those that give gifts.  I'm sorry to say I haven't been giving out a thank you to one family on his route because we always get our gift in the spring...a gift certificate. They own some greenhouses and that's where we buy all of our flowers for our yard.  I was determined to not forget them this year!  I wanted to make a thank you with a gerbera daisy on it.  So when I saw Stamping 411 challenge 203 I thought it would be the perfect design to put my flower on!

I used a tutorial from Noel Johnson that I remembered seeing earlier.  Thanks for the inspiration Noel!

Because I Care - Stamping 411 Challenge

Today I am finally getting back to entering cards into challenges!  This card is for Stamping 411  Challenge 202 using one of my favorites sets ~ Because I Care.  I was able to make this on Saturday while I was at an all day craft day!  I didn't get as much done as I had hoped because I had to leave a couple of times to help out with other things, but we sure had a blast together!

I couldn't resist taking a close up of the butterflies...

Pink and Pretty

Today's card is all about pink and pretty. This week's challenge from Hand Stamped Sentiments was to make a card or project with any shade of pink.  I decided to use Melon Mambo for my pink on this card.  I had actually been working on the card for a while and couldn't decide what to do with all that pink.  Thankfully Stamping 411 had come up with their next Saturday Sketch Challenge.  After I saw that, it was a breeze to whip up this card.  It's definitely a bright color, but I loved how the card turned out!

I must say no man has come up with what God has created when it comes to our eyes!  No matter how many pictures I took of this card (or any of the cards I've done) I can not seem to capture it the way I see it with my own eyes.  I also took a close up so you could try to see it a little better.  It didn't come out quite how I wanted it to, but it will have to do.  You'll probably have to click on the pictures to get a better view.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Elements of Style

Yesterday as I was going through the blogs I follow I saw the Stamping 411 Color Inspirations Challenge.  I really liked the colors they had for this week's challenge, and thought why not combine it with this week's Mojo Monday challenge.  So I did, and this is the card I came up with.

Spring Daisy

Today's card is one I made for a couple different challenges. The first one is Stampin Celebration Challenge #46.  I love the colors for this week's challenge, but I must admit I had a hard time getting it from my mind to paper this time.  Oh no!  I think I'm having stamper's block or something! ;)  At least I managed to come up with something I was satisfied with.  I also used Saturday's Sketch Challenge 197 from Stamping 411 for my design.

Beautiful Butterflies

Well, I am finally back after a bit of a break.  I was up north working at a camp for the weekend and couldn't seem to catch up on everything that needed to be done, so it was my cards that had to be put on hold.  Today's post is for a couple of challenges I try to do every week.  I'm doing Ann's Color Challenge #38 from The Paper Players and Saturday Sketch Challenge #194 from Stamping 411.

Carnations!

A few days ago I said I was going to be making some more carnations, after all they are my favorite flower.  When I saw the The Paper Players challenge to make anything that brings spring to mind I couldn't resist, and the Stamping 411 Challenge was the perfect sketch to use for the idea I had going on in my mind.

Yesterday I also made this little 3x3 thank you for a friend.

I guess the only downside to these cards is you'd have to mail them in a box!

If you didn't see my other post on how to make carnations and would like to see how, click here.  Oh, before I forget, I did use deckle scissors for these two cards, just to see if I liked it.  I think either way works!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Flight of the Butterfly

Today's card is one I made for two different challenges.  The The Paper Players challenge is "Fun with Fabric", and since ribbon is the only Stampin' Up! "fabric" I have right now I decided to see if I could come up with something a little different with the ribbon.  I also used Stamping 411 for my sketch because the ribbon square happened to work perfectly with challenge 192. :)

Spring Daisies

Can you tell I'm thinking spring lately with the cards I've been making?  Seems like all my cards have flowers of some sort or another lately. :)  Today I made a card for two different challenges.

Stamping411 Challenge 191 gave me the sketch to work with and Stampin' Celebration Challenge #40 gave me the colors.

I'll admit I had a hard time trying to get the right balance with the colors at first, but I really like how the card turned out. :)
Thanks for looking and have a great day!

I used the hostess set Because I Care.  I think this is one of my favorite sets because I seem to be using it all the time!

Inspired by Nature

Good morning!  Here is my card for the Saturday Sketch Challenge #185 on stamping411.  A week or two ago I started cutting out these flowers for a different card.  I ended up going in a bit of a different direction with that card.  So...not wanting to waste any flowers, I decided to use them for this challenge instead.

Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge

I decided to try something different and start doing some challenges that I've seen other people posting.  So...I checked a few blogs (thanks, Glenda!) to find out where everyone was getting these from.  This is the Stamping 411 Saturday Sketch Challenge #184 from stamping411.blogspot.com.  I needed to make a b-day card for my niece and decided to use the challenge to help me out.
