Fabulous Florets Card Swap

Last week I posted a card that we made at my last stamp a stack, and said I would have a card sometime this week that was inspired from it.  I can finally show you the card...I just had to keep it a secret until the Red Hot Stampers did their card swap. :)

I added a little more color and layers to this card, and instead of using Old Olive, I used Always Artichoke.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Stamp Set:  Fabulous Florets & Afterthoughts
Card Stock:  Always Artichoke, Rich Razzleberry & Very Vanilla
Classic Stampin' Pad:  Always Artichoke & Rich Razzleberry
Punch:  Decorative Label
Stampin' Emboss Powder:  Gold
I used my scoring blade to make the lines on the Rich Razzleberry

Trains and Trucks...

I'm finally getting another card in for the Friday Mashup challenge!  I seem to always miss the deadline for this one. :(  Anyway, I looked at the colors and theme and wondered if I could get them to work for my nephew who is turning two soon.  I don't have a lot of kids' stamps, so I had to dig through my retired stuff and came up with this set that I think is fun for the toddler age.  So I guess I did get something to come together...and pretty quickly too, so that makes it even better! :)

I had to show it with the envelope too.  I don't stamp on those very often and decided to give it a try once. :)

Just for fun I always hide a dollar for my nieces and nephews somewhere in their card.  I hear they're sometimes ready to pull the card apart to find it!  I wonder how long a dollar will keep them excited? ;)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Graduation Cards ~ Part 2

A couple of weeks ago I posted two graduation cards for a couple of open houses I had to go to.  Well, this weekend I have two more, so of course I had to make more cards.  I decided to keep the same general idea, but change the size.  I used the RGB codes for Night of Navy and Garden Green to put their name and class on the outside of each card.

I put the same short note and verse inside...and of course a pocket to slide some cash or a check into.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Card Stock:  Night of Navy, Daffodil Delight & Whisper White
Garden Green & Whisper White
The closed card measures 4.25" x 4.25".
The first layer is 4" x 4" and the one with a second layer is 3.75" x 3.75".
The cap is three layers of card stock 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" with a brad put through the middle.
I got my idea for the tassels from my upline Glenda here

The Open Sea ~ Father's Day Card #4

Can you tell I'm really loving this stamp set?!  And, yes, I've made another Father's Day card with it.  This one is for my dad, and I'm hoping I remember right and that he likes green.  I'm sure he does...the sailboat he's been working on for the last eight or nine years has a green stripe on it.  He's been restoring a boat very similar to the one he sailed around the world in and he's hoping to have it in the water mid July.  How cool is that?!  Those of you who follow challenges probably know exactly where this design came from.  If not, this cool design is from Mojo Monday Challenge 193.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Stamp Set:  The Open Sea & Old World Map (retired long ago!)
Card Stock:  Always Artichoke, Early Espresso & Crumb Cake
Classic Stampin' Pads:  Early Espresso
And, of course, I did some sponging. :)

The Open Sea ~ Father's Day Card #3

Father's Day is right around the corner.  Well not quite, but I don't want to be late with a card because it will be here before I know it!  The design for this card is from Stamping 411 Challenge 205.  As soon as I saw it I had this idea running through my mind and finally had a chance to sit down and make it.  SUO Challenge 20 is all about celebrating Father's Day, so this is definitely the card for that challenge too.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Stamp Set:  The Open Sea
Card Stock:  Night of Navy, Basic Gray & Whisper White
Classic Stampin' Pad:  Night of Navy
Embossing Folder:  Square Lattice

Can you tell I love sponging?  I think I do it on most of my cards.
I just like how it can help soften and blend pieces together a little better.

Last Chance Lists!

The Last Chance lists are out today!  So grab your 2010/2011 Idea Book & Catalog to see if you would like any of these stamps and accessories, or grab your Definitely Decorative Catalog to browse through their huge list of supplies before they are gone.  If you don't have either of these they are in my side bar to the right and you can download them to view in pdf format.

...or if you want to actually see the items without going through the catalogs you can view them here.  There are five groups under Last Chance (to the left) for you to view.  Have fun looking!

Fabulous Florets ~ May Stamp a Stack

I decided to take a little break from blogging for the weekend and am finally back with another card from my May Stamp a Stack.   I really seem to like sponging a background block and stamping something over it lately.  I know sometime next week I'll have another card to show you that I did this technique on...and you'll see that the card is inspired from this card.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!
