    Zoo Review

Today's card is a little different than my norm, but I needed a masculine card for this month's stamp a stacks. I really like how it turned out too!  It also gave me a chance to try a new technique...ombre.  I've done it before (not realizing it!) using card stock, but not using ink. This technique is a part of the next challenge for the Friday Mashup by Lynda.  I actually had a lot of fun playing around with it trying to get it to look just right for the idea I had in my mind.  So what's the other part of the Friday Mashup challenge?  A sketch. :)

Create a project using the "Sketch".
Create a project with the "Ombre' Background Technique".
Or Mash it up and create a project an "Ombre' Background & The Sketch"

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

    Simply Sketched

Today I have a card for this week's Try Stampin' on Tuesday's sketch # 163.  It's another great sketch to work with and the twist is Easter is Here.  I didn't really do anything with Easter, just put a bright flower on the card.  I also used three different embossing folders for my background pieces instead of DSP.  I have to admit I just don't have much DSP at all so I fill in the background with embossing and sponging on the edges to add a little color. :)  Make sure you head over to Try Stampin' on Tuesday HERE to see what the other designers made and to play along too.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

    Fabulous Florets in the Spring

Today I have another card to show you for the Friday Mashup challenge #155. We have a great challenge for you from Avery this week...

Create a project using the Colors " Pool Party, Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, Wisteria Wonder & Wild Wasabi".
    Create a " Shaped card".
Or Mash it up and create a "Shaped Card using the above Colors".

I really enjoyed creating this card since the colors were great to work with, and I like to occasionally make shaped cards.  It's always simple to do when you have framelits to use. :)   Make sure you stop by the Friday Mashup HERE to check out the other great cards the designers made using this sketch.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

    Merry Christmas!

Today's card is for 'Tis the Season's challenge #14, and it's an inspiration challenge.  As soon as I saw the picture of what was supposed to inspire us I thought of all the different types of Christmas door cards that I've seen.  I've always wanted to make one of my own and figured this was the perfect chance!  It's pretty simple to make and the Hardwood stamp makes it easy too.  I was hoping to make three more, but I was helping my son do his taxes instead.  Hmm...making cards or working on taxes, I wonder which I'd rather be doing! lol  Make sure you visit 'Tis the Season HERE to check out what the other designers were inspired to make and play along to show us how you were inspired.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

    Vivid Vases

Today's card is for a great sketch over at this week's Try Stampin' on Tuesday challenge #162.  There's also a twist for this week, and it's bunnies and chicks.  I didn't do the twist because I don't have any stamps with bunnies or chicks!  Can you believe it?  Nope, none at all.  Instead I just went with one of the newer sets from Stampin' Up! called Vivid Vases.  I figured it was about time I put it to some paper.  I really like how it turned out, but I have to admit it looks so much better in person than it does in the picture.  I like how the bright flowers pop against the browns. :)  Make sure you visit Try Stampin' on Tuesday HERE to check out what the other designers made this week.  And if you have a chance play along and show us what you made. :)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

    You're Lovely, Daffodil

Yeah, it's Friday!  Last week was so busy and this week wasn't too bad, so why am I so excited for the weekend?  Who knows, but I'm glad it's here.  And since it's Friday it's time to show you my card for the Friday Mashup challenge.  This week Tara brings us a great challenge...

Create a project using the "Scattered Embossing Technique".
Create a project with "Spring Colors or a Theme".
Or Mash it up and create a "Spring project with the Scattered Embossing Technique".

I've never done the scattered embossing technique, so that was something new and fun to do.  I also chose to use yellow for this week's card since it's bright and springy and a favorite color of my niece's.  I hate to admit it, but I'm SO far behind on my March cards and it's already April 4.  At least I have one of them done now.  I hope to finish them up this weekend.  Maybe that's why I'm excited for the weekend.  I can just make a few cards and relax and enjoy doing it. Don't forget to check out what the other designers made for this week's challenge HERE.  They're beautiful!  Make sure you play along too if you get a chance so you can try out the scattered embossing technique and think spring at the same time. :)

I can't forget to add the the other challenge that I used to help create this card. I used this week's Freshly Made Sketches for my card design.  I'm finally playing along with a sketch challenge since I haven't done it in a while.  Actually I did last week and totally forgot to play along on their blog!  Guess that means I'm getting old! lol

Thanks for looking and have a great day!
