Regal Rose

It seems like I'm in a flower making mood the past couple of days.  Maybe it's because I know before long they'll be gone, and I want to enjoy the last little bit of my flowers outdoors while I can.  And that just puts me in the mood to make them...who knows. lol  Since I wanted to make a rose I thought the Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge was the perfect sketch to put it on.  I also used the ColourQ Challenge for my card's colors.  They were definitely a challenge for me and I wanted to see what I could come up with using them.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

RHSSC - Everything Eleanor

It's Sunday so that means it's time for another Red Hot Stampers' sketch challenge.  I had an idea going through my mind for this sketch after being inspired at our Red Hot meeting on Thursday.  One of the ladies showed a bunch of crafts she's been working on and some of them had paper flowers on them.  It's been a while since I've made some paper flowers, so I thought it would be a good time to give another one a try. :)
Don't forget to check out what the other Red Hot Stampers made HERE.

Sponged Wetlands

Ever wonder why you say you'll do something then ask yourself later "Why did I do that?!  That's me with today's card! lol  Yup, I told my upline that I'd do a demo at our monthly meeting.  Actually I didn't mind it a bit. :)  I love sponging on my cards and knew I would want to do some sort of sponging.  At first I thought I'd do flowers of some sort, but since I didn't want to cut any flowers out and love the Wetlands stamp set I went with that.  I used this week's Color Throwdown challenge for my colors.  I took one look at them and liked what I saw. :)   I did have to change a couple of colors since I didn't have them, but got as close as I could.  Well, after I finished my sample card I thought maybe we should all give it a try at the meeting!  Sure, why not?!  I emailed my upline and she said sure.  I must say they did a great job on their cards!  They all looked different (just like my samples below), but that's what making cards is all about. :)  Wish I had brought my camera to take pics of all of them.

This was the first card I made...

This was a second sample so we weren't all trying to look at one card...

And this is the one I made as we were working together...

Elegant Thank You

Today's card was inspired by The Friday Mashup challenge, and boy was it a challenge for me!  Here is what their challenge consists of:

1.  Create a project with using "A-B-C (use elements on your projects starting with the letters A, B, C). "
2.  Create a project using a "1-2-3 card recipe (1 embellishment, 2 Stamp Sets, 3 Colors) ."
3.  Or Mash it Up and create a project "A-B-C & a 1,2,3 card recipe. "

I mashed it up and here are the A-B-C's and 1-2-3's of my card:

A.  Aqua Painter
B.  Blooming with Kindness
C.  Candy Dots

1.  One Flower
2.  Two colors (Elegant Eggplant & Always Artichoke)
3.  Three layers on my card.

For so many things to work with I think it turned out pretty clean and simple.  However I'm finding out using the aqua marker is anything but simple!  I love how cards turn out when I use it, so it's definitely worth it. :)

Need for Speed Birthday

Today I needed to make a card for my nephew who is turning 20.  What do you make for a guy that's turning 20?!  I went to my trusty retired set Need for Speed and whipped this card up using the Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge for the week.  Whew...glad there are all these sketch challenges out there to help me out even though I twisted this one around just a bit. :)

Creative Crew - CCREW0913SF

Ok, this is my fourth (and final) challenge for the September Creative Crew Challenges!  Whew...I was beginning to wonder if I'd ever get these posts done! lol  Our last challenge was Scrapbook and More Focus: Make a gift for a good neighbor as you celebrate National Good Neighbor Day (September 28th).

I went more the traditional route and made a set of four all occasion cards for my neighbor with a simple but pretty box to put the cards and envelops in. Who doesn't need a card to send out every now and then? :)

I had to take individual pics too.  I always like to see cards up nice and close so I can check out all the detail. :)

And of course a box to package it all up in!

Creative Crew - CCREW0913HF

Here is the Creative Crews Third challenge...Holiday Focus: 911 Remembrance. It's not a holiday, but it's a day that has been imprinted on our minds.  Make a project with the Big Shot that allows you to remember a day from your past. If you wish to share the significance of this day, we'd love to read about it.

Since the 4th of July is my favorite holiday I decided to use the set Too Kind by flipping the flowers upside down to make fireworks. I Love other holidays, but this is one where we get to be outside to celebrate with the family. We start the day off with a parade and end it with festive fireworks. :)  Just a fun day to celebrate the freedom we have.

I must say I have a hard time remember or following directions or something.  I guess I just got excited when I figured out the flowers would make cool fireworks that I just plain ol' forgot to use the Big Shot with my first card...

I did change it though and it was so quick and simple to do too. :)

Just a few quick stamps on the inside too.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!
