It's Been a Great Journey with You

Today is our 25th Anniversary so I had to create something kind of special for my hubby right?  I went with the ship from the stamp set Traveler and one of the things I wrote inside the card is the title of today's post...It's Been a Great Journey with You.  It seems like just yesterday that we were married, but when I take the time to think back through so many memories I guess it has been that long. :)  It has been a great journey and God has blessed me with a wonderful man.

We celebrated by going to The Smokies in Tennessee with my cousin and her hubby who were married a week and a day after us.  What a fun trip!  Here are just a few of the pics of our time there...

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

I'd Fall for You All Over Again...

Today I have another fall card for you.  I'm sure I've said this before, but I'll say it again...I love making fall cards!  I love the colors, the season and I don't get to make them very often which I think makes me love it when I feel like I can. :)   Plus that's what it's all about over at Try Stampin' on Tuesday.  A fun sketch and an autumn theme.

This is the sketch that we're playing with for this challenge and if you click HERE you can see what all of the other designers created too.  If you get a chance, play along with us.  We'd love to see what you create!

I have to be honest that I was not too sure about this card since I had just created another card using this set right before this card and I loved it!  When I get two thumbs up from family though that helps. :)  So I went with it instead of going back to the drawing board.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Water Colored Vintage Leaves

Today's card is inspired by the colors over at the Color Throwdown challenge #362.  As soon as I saw the rich earthy colors I new I need to make some sort of card using them.  Since my brother-in-law and sister-in-law's anniversary is coming up I though I'd make an anniversary card using them...and I just had to pull out the 2014-2016 In Colors from Stampin' Up!  I love this group of colors!

I created the leaves by stamping the images on watercolor paper using VersaMark and embossing them in gold.  Then I used my Leaflets Framelits to to cut them out.  Once I had them cut out I worked on one leaf at a time.  I wet the whole leaf using an aquapainter, then started adding color from my ink pad lits onto the leaf.  I used Hello Honey and Mossy Meadow on the smallest leaf, Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey on the oak leaf, and Tangelo Twist, Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey on the maple leaf.  I know some of the colors on the leaves are not nearly as dark as the ink pads.  That's because I played around with them a little bit by adding water if I thought the color was too dark and also by mixing the colors together.  I never would have thought I'd get the red I did on the maple leaf, but taking the time to play around with the colors and mixing them can really be worth the effort! :)  The background of the card is watercolor paper also and I did a basic watercolor wash on it using Hello Honey and Mossy Meadow again.  I also used a stamp from the set Gorgeous Grunge on the background piece.  I stamped it with Mossy Meadow, but made sure I stamped off the watercolor paper onto scrap paper two times, then spritzed it with some water before I stamped it onto the watercolor paper.  I added a touch of lined thread here and there and the Happy Anniversary to finish it off.

I also stamped leaves on the inside that were light enough to write over.  Yup I totally forgot to take a picture before I wrote all over it. lol  That's ok since I usually put that off until the last thing.  I just do NOT have a way with words, especially in cards so if I have something on my mind I write it before I forget it! lol

Soft Wishes

I have a quick post to share with you today since I'm sitting around waiting to head back home from the 2015 Stampin' Up! convention.  I made this card quite a while ago for my parents' anniversary, but for some reason never posted it.  I have to admit I just can't resist water coloring when I use stamps from the set Remarkable You.

Just a couple of pictures at different angles.  I have to admit I love the soft blues of this card, plus my mom's favorite color is blue so whenever I make her a card I have to have some sort of blue in it.  Now I did add a touch of my dad's favorite color too...green. ;)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Bloom with Hope ~ Anniversary

Today I have an anniversary card for you that I made while I was on vacation for the weekend.  Yup, I packed up some of my stamping stuff and made cards all weekend.  It was kind of nice to be ahead for once, but I know it won't last long! I thought this week's sketch challenge from Try Stampin' on Tuesday would work well for an anniversary card so I got busy and created this.  I like how it turned out. :)

Make sure you head on over to Try Stampin' on Tuesday's blog HERE and check out all the other great cards using this sketch. If you get a chance show us what you can create too.

I had to take a few pics of the flowers up close.  Like I said I only packed some of my stuff and one of them was not my blendabilities in Cherry Cobbler.  No problem...just emboss the flowers then sponge the color on. :)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!
