RHSSC44

Welcome to another Red Hot Stamper's sketch challenge.  I loved the challenge this week because it went perfectly with a flower I wanted to put on a card for a stamping friend's birthday.  Yes, it's another carnation.  I think that's kind of been my flower of choice this year for most of the ladies birthdays that come come to my stamp a stacks. Just a different design each time. :)  Head on over to the Red Hot Stampers' Blog here to check out a few more cards for challenge #44.

A big flower needs a big envelope, so I had to make a matching box. :)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

It's Independence Day!

Happy 4th of July and Happy Birthday to a friend and fellow stamper who gives out many, many cards each month to let people know she's thinking about them.  I love that I can make a red, white and blue card special for her just like she does for so many other people.  I dropped it off last night (just after 9 pm at her front door), so I hope she ends up finding it! lol  I didn't want to knock on the door so late in the evening.  I saw the Stamping 411 Saturday sketch challenge here and thought it would make a cute card for a 4th of July birthday.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Manhattan Flower

Today's cards are one of my June stamp a stack cards.  Not the easiest to prep because of the embossing, but pretty simple for the ladies to make.  I really liked how my first one turned out...until I made my second one.  Then I liked that one a little better. lol  I liked having more than one of this card to show the ladies how sponging can vary from person to person, or in my case from card to card.  When you make your own cards, each one is unique. :)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Sponged Serene Silhouettes

Today's cards are a couple of masculine cards I made using the stamp set Serene Silhouettes and also using the sponging and masking techniques.  Have I mentioned before that I love this set and I love sponging? lol I really enjoyed making both of these cards.  This first one was inspired by Jess and you can visit her blog here.  I liked the design and colors of her card and went on to create my own version of it.  Thanks for the inspiration, Jess!

This second card is similar to one I did a while back for one of my stamp a stacks and a Red Hot Stamper's sketch challenge (check it out here).  Because I really liked that card I decided to give that same idea a try again with my new stamp set.  I actually had the whole card done and thought maybe I could add the sun or moon to this pic, so I punched out a circle and started sponging away again.  Didn't take much to darken things up a little so you could see the "sun".  Then I did the same thing down at the bottom for the reflection.  I still haven't decided if it's the sun or moon yet though. lol

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Serene Silhouettes Sunset

Today's card is my favorite one from the Serene Silhouettes group that I made, and I just couldn't wait to post it anymore. :)  If you follow my blog at all you'll notice I like to do a lot of sponging on my cards.  Seldom do I make a card that doesn't have some sort of sponging effect on it.  This card's inspiration comes from looking to the west as the sun is setting and seeing the beautiful rainbow of colors.  That's what I tried to recreate here.  As I was looking to the west the other night I realized I have the colors in the wrong order...ha ha.  Oh well!  I've wanted to make another card, so I guess I'll be trying again one of these days.  Guess I just wanted the darker colors toward the bottom.  We'll see what happens with my next try.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Serene Silhouettes Samples

Here are a couple more cards I made for my upline's open house last week using the set Serene Silhouettes.  Love this set!  You can do so much with it as you'll see with a few more cards that I'll be showing you this week...or maybe next week.

I think this first card is a nice soft one and very easy to make.  I did get the design from someone, but can't seem to find it again...err!  I'll look for it and post it when I find it again.  I finally found it! lol  The design is from Deb Currier and you can check out her card here.

This one was a little more work, but I loved how it turned out.  I stamped with a couple of different colors on whisper white, sponged all over it, then stamped it againgwith versa mark slightly over the colors and embossed it with white embossing powder.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Sorry no recipes today.  I just needed a break from it, plus I don't have any of my samples anymore and I don't remember all the colors of ink I used.  How horrible is that! lol
