RHSSC9 - Lovely as a Tree

Welcome to Sunday!  For me that means it's time for another Red Hot Stamper's sketch challenge.  I took a look at the sketch and thought about what I was going to do...yeah, I had no clue! lol  Well, I had the set Lovely as a Tree sitting on my table because I needed to come up with one more card for my stamp a stack next week and that's the set I was going to use.  I had also just been looking at cards from that set on Splitcoast.  I came across a few cards that had reflections on them and have always wanted to give them a try, so I thought why not.  And for those of you who are planning on coming to my stamp a stack...we will be making this card. :)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Red Hot Stampers Card Swap

Today's card is one I made for a card swap with the Red Hot Stampers.  I love doing these card swaps because I get such a variety of lovely cards.  So for this swap we could use any set from the holiday mini catalog and I chose The Sounding Joy...kinda obvious I guess. ;)  At first I thought I'd never come up with a card, but then decided I wanted to use the seam binding ribbon in Rose Red.  Well, that made my paper choices kind of obvious, so I started playing around from there and this is what I came up with. :)

Because the card is 5 1/4" x 5 1/4" I like to give an envelope with the card in case the ladies don't have that size on hand...and I thought I'd add just a little extra to the envelope with another stamp from the set.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Halloween

Since today is Halloween I'm going to post a few pics of our Halloween tradition along with one little card I made.  I never really had my kids dress up and do trick or treating a whole lot while they were little.  A couple of times I did sew outfits that they were able to use as pajamas once Halloween was done. What we really got into was carving pumpkins...and sometimes making pumpkin seeds.  We did that this year...yummy!  Anyway, here are a few pics for you to enjoy...

I made this 3x3 thank you for my upline Glenda who is always so willing to let us borrow her stuff when we need to...thank you!  I don't have any stamping stuff that is Halloweenish (not sure that's even a word, but I'm using it), so I figured I could make a couple of pumpkins out of punches to put on cards that I've seen around and thought were pretty cute.

My pumpkin is the daschund, Erica's is the bat, Ryan's is the spider & web and Rachel's is the "haunted" house.

I had to get my two doggies sitting by the daschund pumpkin! :)  They look so obedient and like they enjoy having their pics taken...ha ha, I wish!  My daughters were bribing them with food to get them to sit still like that. They are really longingly staring at the food being held right by the camera! lol

RHSSC8 - Autumn Splendor

It's Sunday and that means it's time for another Red Hot Stamper's sketch challenge! Yesterday as I was driving to the bank I couldn't help but notice how all the fall colors were still putting on a beautiful show.  It gets to be a little less each day, but it was still so amazing to look at.  That's where I got my inspiration for today's card.  That and the fact that I used the embossing and sponging technique on one of the cards that I'll be doing for my next stamp a stack.  Guess I liked it so much I had to make another card with it. ;)  You really can't tell from the pictures, but I sprayed the leaves with shimmer paint...I love how it looks!  Probably not the greatest to add it if you're doing a masculine card though. lol

Today's card is one from my last stamp a stack.  I had all my cards ready to go and realized I had told everyone who signed up that two of the five cards would be sympathy cards and I only had one.  I'd say half of the ladies ended up putting "Happy Birthday" on it though. lol

I like to give credit where it's due, but for the life of me I can't figure out where I found the flower and band idea.  Guess that's what happens when I wait so long to post a card. :(

In Wilderness Birthday

Wow, I think making cards for teenage boys is my hardest challenge when it comes to card making!  My  nephew turned 18 last week and this is the card I made for him...after all he's into hunting.  Too bad I didn't have the stamp set Need for Speed right now because he's into racing cars too.  Oh well, there's always next year. :)
