Birthday Zoo Review

Happy Friday, Everyone!  Today I have a fun card for you using this week's Friday Mashup challenge hosted by Holly.  This week's mashup challenge is...

Create a project using the Colors "Turquoise, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Wild Wasabi & Neutral of your choice".
Create a project for "a Child".
Or mash it up and create a project with the "Above Colors for a Child".

Now I can easily make a card using these colors, but a card for kids?!  Now that was a little harder.  I have to admit I have NO kids' stamp sets!  Yup, I was kind of surprised myself when I started going through my stamps and realized I didn't have any sets that are meant just for kids.  I think I'm going to have to change that now that the new Stampin' Up! catalog is about to be released!  I decided to use the set Zoo Review because I figured that would be the best bet, or at least I had an idea pop in my mind for it.  I'm kind of sad this set is retiring because I waited a while to get it and haven't used it as much as I would like.  Guess I'll just have to hold on to it for a little while yet. :)

I stamped the penguin stamp two times and used the stampin' write marker to add on to the lines behind the penguins so they were connected across the page.  I wanted to make it look like they were standing on snow/ice with the sky and water behind them so I brayered the water and sky using temping turquoise.  For once I accomplished what I wanted on the first try! lol  Make sure you check out what all the other ladies made HERE and play along if you get a chance. :)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Springtime Hello for Try Stampin' on Tuesday

Hey, Everyone...I have another card to show you which I think is not my norm, but I really like how it turned out.  Maybe that means it is my norm...I don't know. lol  Anyway we have another sketch challenge for you this week at Try Stampin' on Tuesday.  It's another great sketch to work with too. :)  I used the stamp set Springtime Hello (finally!) because the twist was Bugs and Blossoms.  I totally forgot to put the bees on my card, but I wasn't about to add them after I had already taken my pics and picked one out.  Make sure you head over to Try Stampin' on Tuesday HERE to check out what all the other ladies made and to play along too if you have time.

Oh, I forgot to mention my colors are from the colourQ challenge.  I really like this color combo together and looking at the designers' cards makes me like it even more.  However I totally forgot to enter my card in their challenge and didn't post my blog on time this morning either!  Wow, I really slipped on that.  I guess my bed was calling a little too loudly! lol

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Fancy Fold Flip Card

Hi again, Everyone.  Today I have a different kind of card for you.  Over at the Friday Mashup Cindy's really mashing it up with a fun fold project and polka dots.  Here's the challenge...

Create a project with "Polka Dots".
Create a project with a "Fun Fold".
or Mash it Up! and create a "Fun Fold project with some Polka Dots"!

The reason my card is different is because of all the folds in it.  I made one of these years ago, and though to myself, "Why don't you make another one of those flip cards?".  I don't know what I was thinking! lol  Making the flip part isn't so hard, but deciding what to put on it and adding a bunch of layers is what's hard...that's why it's all one layer, meaning I decided to stamp directly on the flip part of the card.  It didn't turn out too badly, but because I didn't add the layers you can see what's on other parts of the card through the cracks.  Like I said I did make it a long time ago and totally forgot about that.  I also forgot the polka dots part of the card.  I got so wrapped up in making each of the "pages" that I totally forgot about the dots unless you consider what I put on the first "page" as dots. :)  Make sure you head on over to the Friday Mashup HERE to see what kind of folds all the other designers put on their cards, then show us what you can do too.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Cute Christmas Collectibles

Hey, Everyone, I have another Christmas card to show you for another 'Tis the Season Christmas card challenge.  For our 15th challenge we have a color challenge.  We've done a few color challenges that have blue and brown in them and every time I see them I think, "What am I going to make for Christmas using these colors?!"  Well I manage to come up with a card each time and love how each one has turned out.  I actually pulled all of them out of my stash and they are some of my favorite cards that I've made so far with this challenge. :)  I was hoping to get three more cards done to post with this card, but I just don't have them done yet. :(   Maybe this weekend...maybe. lol  Don't forget to head on over to the 'Tis the Season blog HERE to check out all the other great cards the ladies have made for this challenge.  And remember to play along so you can get a head start on your Christmas cards...Christmas will be here before you know it! ;)

    Zoo Review

Today's card is a little different than my norm, but I needed a masculine card for this month's stamp a stacks. I really like how it turned out too!  It also gave me a chance to try a new technique...ombre.  I've done it before (not realizing it!) using card stock, but not using ink. This technique is a part of the next challenge for the Friday Mashup by Lynda.  I actually had a lot of fun playing around with it trying to get it to look just right for the idea I had in my mind.  So what's the other part of the Friday Mashup challenge?  A sketch. :)

Create a project using the "Sketch".
Create a project with the "Ombre' Background Technique".
Or Mash it up and create a project an "Ombre' Background & The Sketch"

    Simply Sketched

Today I have a card for this week's Try Stampin' on Tuesday's sketch # 163.  It's another great sketch to work with and the twist is Easter is Here.  I didn't really do anything with Easter, just put a bright flower on the card.  I also used three different embossing folders for my background pieces instead of DSP.  I have to admit I just don't have much DSP at all so I fill in the background with embossing and sponging on the edges to add a little color. :)  Make sure you head over to Try Stampin' on Tuesday HERE to see what the other designers made and to play along too.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!
