Celebrate Today!

What an appropriate title for today's card...Celebrate Today!  It was my dad and mom's anniversary, so I wanted to make them something special.  Right now I'm working on sponging, so I wanted to make a nice scene for them.  I think I need to work on figuring out some different scenes, but for now this will have to do.  Since I started their card so late I went looking for a bit of help.  I liked the colors for this week's Paper Players color challenge, so I quickly pulled them out and got to work!  Since sponging makes my colors mix a little I knew I would end up with a hint of green on my card too.  I have no idea why I think this, but a card just doesn't seem right if it doesn't have any green on it.  Ok, I don't think that of all my cards, but I do think that about a lot of them that I make.  Maybe some of you have this weird obsession too...there has to be a certain color to make things just right. lol

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

RHSSC - Happy Father's Day

It's time for another Red Hot Stampers' sketch card.  Not only do we need to do the sketch this week, but we had an extra challenge to make it a Father's Day card.  I started looking through my sets and realized I don't have very many masculine sets that aren't retired!  So once again I used my trusty The Open Sea set.  Don't forget to check out what the other Red Hot Stampers made over HERE.

Need for Speed Wallet

I've been taking a bit of a break from blogging, but it's time to start again.  Today's "card" is for my nephew's birthday.  I've made these before, but thought I'd post another one since I think they're so cool. :)  I stamped and cut out the image, then taped it on the wallet front.  Then I run it through the Big Shot to get the textured look.  Of course I have to fill it with a bunch of fake stuff, however there is some real stuff in there even though you can't see it. :)

Another thing I want to add is what I talked about last week...  I'm a guest designer for the Inky Fingers Club and would love to have you join.  I'll be featuring sponging and have lots of pics and instructions on how to make four different scenes on four cards.  I'm not the only one designing, so you'll see a lot of great things out there!  Click HERE to register.  If you're one of the first fifty to sign up you get an Early Bird Discount of $19.95.  Here's some more info...

RHSSC - Thinking of You

It's Sunday so that means it's time for another Red Hot Stampers' sketch challenge card. :)  When I saw the sketch I decided I wanted to use a color that I haven't used in a while...Pacific Point.  Since I wanted to use the Window Frames Framelits I decided to make my card square this week.  It's a little busy with the flower added in, but I went with it anyway.  One thing you might have noticed is that I used shimmer paint.  I love shimmer paint and still have a LOT of it.  That means even though it's no longer available I still plan on using it until my supply runs out, or Stampin' Up! comes up with something similar to use that's affordable.  Don't forget to check out what the other Red Hot Stampers made using this design HERE.

Serene Silhouette Sunset

It's time for some sponge art again.  I've been practicing it since I'm going to be a guest designer this summer for the Inky Fingers Club!  I'm really excited about this!  It will be challenging, but so fun to create some more scenes using sponging.  I'm also excited to see what the other guest designers will be making too!
Today's card is for my sister and brother-in-law's anniversary.  Funny thing...everything was going fine while I was working on it until I decided I wanted the yellow sponged a little darker.  Of course I had already attached my scene to the card and I ended up getting  the yellow on the lighter embossed part of my card!   Well, I was NOT about to start over! My mistake meant I had to sponge around the the rest of it too.  I think my mistake added just the extra touch it needed though.  I love it when a mistake turns into even something better than I first had planned! :)

Here's a little more info about the Inky Fingers Club that you can join, not only for my projects, but for other projects by talented guest designers.

In a couple of weeks I will be going away for the weekend to create four unique sponged scene cards with a special box to hold them in.  I will be taking a lot of pictures, and maybe even some video (yes, maybe! lol) so you can create some beautiful cards to give to family and friends.  I would love for you to become a member and join me and the other designers at the Inky Fingers Club HERE!  If you do decide to join and become a member please send me your email by clicking on the "Contact Me" box at the top of my blog. I can't wait to get my stamp set and get started!  :)

Rich Razzleberry Stippled Blossoms

Today's card is my last May stamp a stack card.  All I have to say is if you're anything like me don't try designing your cards after midnight.  It took me three tries to get this card right because I kept stamping my leaves in the Rich Razzleberry ink instead of the greens!  I love how it turned out once I finally got it right though! lol

Shimmery Summer Silhouettes

Today's card is another one of my May stamp a stack cards.  This is definitely another card that is not the norm for me.  Well the sponging is, but something about it is not my normal style.  Not sure if that makes any sense to anyone else, but it does to me. lol  I need to broaden my horizons and stretch myself anyway. :)
