Pretty in Polka Dots

Yesterday was my daughter's birthday so I thought I'd make her a card with a dress on it.  I guess this is actually a challenge I got from my upline quite a while ago...make a card using the Dress Up Framelits Die.  Since the weather didn't cooperate a lot this past winter one of our meetings was cancelled...so I must confess I never did it until now. :(  I just made a nice and simple card by adding our smallest pearls as a necklace and folding the 3/8" taffeta ribbon in half and adding it as a belt.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Pretty Papillon Potpourri

These cute little 3x3 cards and small box were another thing I made to feature paper-piercing using the Occasions Paper-Piercing Pack.  I guess you really can't see the paper-piercing unless you click on the pic so it comes up bigger, but it outlines the butterflies.  I was also looking through the "Less is More" challenge and these fit the category this week...keep it clean and simple, and frame it!  The little "frames" are easy to make using two square punches.

I had to add more than one pic to get a few different views of the cards. :)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Chalkboard Technique with Elements of Style

Today's card is a technique I've never tried before that I saw over on the Friday Mashup...the chalkboard technique.  I was going to use this as one of my stamp a stack cards, but thought it would take me a lot more work to prep it than it would take the ladies to make it.  I've got to keep their cards at least a little challenging, right? ;)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Celebrate Today!

Today's card is another one of my March stamp a stack cards that was inspired by the Paper Craft Crew card sketch challenge.  I wanted to use a color I haven't used in a while, so I decided on Calypso Coral.  I also wanted to show the ladies how easy it is to make a small flower using the creped filter paper.

RHSSC - By the Tide

Well, I've been saying that I needed to use challenges to help me out with my stamp a stack cards for this month, and this card is no exception.  I used my Red Hot Stampers sketch challenge for this card.  I did cheat on the sketch just a little though.  I didn't put four squares on the card...oh no! ;)  Don't forget to check out the other cards made using this sketch challenge.  Just click here

I thought I'd take a pic at an angle so you could see that I actually did something on the inside of my card for once! :)

Swallowtail for HHS Color Challenge

Here is another card I made for this month's stamp a stack.  And of course I'm using another challenge...Hand Stamped Sentiments color challenge #155. :) Wow, I'm really going to have a fun time embossing and cutting out all of these butterflies!  I have to admit I wasn't sure about this stamp when I first saw it.  However after seeing what other ladies were making I had to give it a try myself.  Sponging the colors on after embossing makes it just beautiful!

All of that sparkle that you can see is actually in the embossing powder.  I was looking for some black embossing powder and guess I don't have any!  What's up with that? ! lol  All I could find was on old stash of Bedazzled Black, but I love how it turned out!

Everything Eleanor

Well, I'm having a hard time coming up with this month's stamp a stack cards, so I'm turning to some challenges to help me out.  The first one to help me out is The Paper Players.  They have a color challenge this week, and it sure is nice to let someone else pick the colors!  I found the colors a bit challenging...I wasn't sure where to throw in the Lucky Limeage, but I'm happy with what I came up with. :)  Not so sure I'm going to be happy when it's time to do my prep work, and I have all that fussy cutting to do though! lol

Thanks for looking and have a great day!
