Evergreen in Pink

Today I have a fun Christmas card for you that I hope you'll enjoy.  I used Pool Party and Pink Pirouette to create a soft winter scene on this week's card for 'Tis the Season's inspiration challenge.  The first cards I made up just did NOT work.  I pulled the ornaments I made off the cards and used another stamp set to create baby cards.  They turned out really cute, but I forgot to take pics of them.  Maybe I'll post them next week sometime after I get home from this year's Stampin' Up! convention. :)

To create this card I stamped my trees in VersaMark, then Pink Pirouette and poured clear embossing powder on them.  Once I heated them I sponged both on the top and the bottom in Pool Party.  On the top I punched out a circle so I could have a shimmering moon effect.  I sponged lightly around the moon, then worked my way from the outer edges in toward the moon always starting on the edges and moving in so those parts got darker and it stayed a bit lighter the closer I got to the moon.

To create the "hills" on the bottom I used scrap paper and moved it around and sponged in different areas to get the hilly look.

Make sure you head over to 'Tis the Season HERE to check out the other great cards that were inspired by this challenge.  Come play along if you have time.  We'd love to see what you create!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Watermelon Wonder Watercolor Wings

Today's card is doing double duty for me.  It was inspired by this week's Try Stampin' or not on Tuesday's sketch challenge #228 and I made it for my niece's birthday. :)

I used the set Watercolor Wings and stamped the butterfly image on wet watercolor paper, then cut it out using the Butterfly Thinlits Die.  I did the same thing with Basic Black, then pieced them back together.  I now have the outside of the water colored butterfly left to use on another card some other time. :)

I also used the new embossing folder Fluttering to give the back of my card just a little more something to it.  I used the photopolymer set Endless Birthday Wishes to finish it off.

Make sure you head over to Try Stampin' or not on Tuesday to check out the other fun cards using this great and simple sketch.  We'd love to see what you create!

Birdie Birthday

Today's card is for my sister-in-law's birthday and I'd better get it to her quickly since it's only in a couple of days!  I really liked the sketch over at Sketch and Stamp #112 this week so that's where the inspiration comes for this card.  That and I can't resist doing a little water coloring when I get the chance. :)

Happy Wonderful Christmas

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far.  I know I am, but it's flying by way too fast!!  At least I've had time to make a few cards here and there, and this week I have some Christmas cards from 'Tis the Season's Christmas card challenge blog.  We have a great sketch for you this week...

I made all of my cards pretty clean and simple this time around since the berries on the wreath, the bow and some of the words are embossed.  That adds a little shine to each of the cards and the wreaths are popped up with dimensionals too.  On the first card I made I stamped the sentiment all in Garden Green and you can't see the word Christmas very well, so I reinked it with Versa Mark and embossed it in white.  Definitely much better!

Make sure you check out 'Tis the Season HERE to see all the other fun Christmas cards made with this sketch and play along too if you get the chance.  We's love to see what you create!

For the Two of You

I have another card for you today using Try Stampin' or not on Tuesday's sketch challenge.  I needed a clean and simple bridal shower card and figured these colorful butterflies would do the trick...at least I hope they will!

Here is the sketch and a couple more pics of my CAS card.  Make sure you stop by Try Stampin's blog HERE to check out the other great cards made using this sketch and to play along too.  We'd love to see what you create. :)

Calla Lily Birthday

I made a quick card last week for my stamping friend's birthday, but waited to post it until tonight since I didn't want her to see it on my blog or any of my galleries before she got it. ;)  Hugs and Happy Birthday, Friend!  You know who you are. :)

I used the new Stampin' Up! set Remarkable You for her card.  I stamped the calla lilies with VersaMark, embossed them in white and cut them out.  I sponged the color on them using So Saffron, Pink Pirouette and Wild Wasabi.  I used watercolor paper for the background and did a watercolor wash using So Saffron and Pink Pirouette also.  When it was dry I ran it through my Big Shot using the Stylish Stripes embossing folder.  I sponged around the edges of the "Happy Birthday" and the edges of the card stock with the flowers on it once again using So Saffron and Pink Pirouette.  I popped up the lilies and Happy Birthday with dimensionals and finished the card off with a few Pearls.

I can't forget to add that this card was inspired by Sketch and Stamp #111 HERE and this is the sketch I worked with.  Have I ever mentioned I love sketch challenges? ;)

The Wilderness Awaits - Red Fox

I have a masculine card for you today using another stamp from the Stampin' Up! set The Wilderness Awaits.  I made this card for my hubby's birthday this time.  First my daughter's birthday, now my husband's. :)  I really like the fox, but didn't want to just plop him on the card so I had to create the woods and mountains around and behind him. :)

I'm not so sure about the fact that he's so big in the pic, but I'm just imagining him sitting on another mountain top with the view behind him.  I have to admit I almost forgot to make my hubby a card so I had to whip this one together pretty quickly and didn't have time to play around with the scenery at all.  Sorry, Dear!

First I stamped the fox and added more grass from other various stamps I had. Then I added in the tress.  After that I tore a piece of scrap paper and sponged the shape of the mountains in (all of this done with StazOn Black).  After that I grabbed my ink pads and aqua painter and filled everything in.  I painted the sky last and masked the moon, but I don't remember the size since I have a bunch of different sized circles cut out already to grab for cards like this.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!
