RHSSC - Stippled Blossoms

It's Sunday so that means it's time for another Red Hot Stampers' sketch challenge card.  I finally bought the Stippled Blossoms set and used it for our challenge this week.  I really like how this card turned out.  Not that I don't like my other cards, but sometimes some cards just stand out more than others to me. :)  Don't forget to check the Red Hot Stampers' blog HERE to see what the other ladies made.  Lots of great, but different ideas using this design.  Why not give it a try yourself this week and show us what you made? :)

I actually did something on the inside of the card this time too. :)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Happy Birthday to my Mom

The other day my dad asked me to make a card for my mom for her birthday (from him, of course) and I said sure. :)  So I got busy looking at some sketch challenges.  I saw the one from this week's Hand Stamped Sentiments and had an idea pop in my mind right away.  This is what I came up with.  Can you tell what her favorite color is?  :)

Of course I needed to make her a card from me and my family so I got to work again and ended up using the same sketch challenge from Hand Stamped Sentiments and the SUO (Stampin' Up! Only) challenge.  This week's challenge is to use one of your favorite retiring sets on your card.  I have a couple of favorites and Elements of Style is one of them.  So so sad to see this one go. :(

Dolled-Up Birthday Samples

So I finally got a chance to sit down and make all my cards from the Dolled-Up Birthday set that was designed by Chris Gilmore.  I have to say I love this kit!  It was so nice to sit down and not do any of the prep work, but have everything I needed right in front of me. :)   I actually made the original card last (I did change where the flower was at though).  Yes, that means I played around with different ideas.  Why did I make different cards?

When I opened the kit I it didn't have a picture of what the cards were supposed to look like.  No problem though!  I just decided to make what ever came to my mind using almost only what was in the kit.  I added dimensionals and spritzed shimmer paint.  That's it.  I wanted to see what I could do with pretty much just the kit.  Now on to see the rest of the cards I created in the order I made them...

And a group picture. lol

If you'd like to order this kit just click HERE.  It's $15.95 plus S&H.

Today's card is just a cute little 3x3 that I made for my niece's baby shower.  I used a retired set and you'll see why in the bottom pic below....

It had to match the bag I bought to put the gifts in. :)

Lovely as a Tree

Today's card is another b-day card that I made for my nephew.  I need to get a little sponging practice in since I'm going to be a guest designer this summer, and that is what I said I'd be featuring.  I actually had a "scrap" piece of paper with the trees stamped on it that I just couldn't throw away.  I figured it was time I used something that I had sitting around, so I stamped the trees again in a darker ink.  Then I ripped some scrap paper for the mountains and started sponging away.  I wasn't sure if I'd like how it turned out, but since I gave it away that means I actually liked it. :)

RHSSC - The Open Sea

It's time for another Red Hot Stampers' sketch challenge today. :) Since I needed a masculine card for a stamp a stack coming up I thought this week's design would go great with The Open Sea stamp set.  And since it's a clean and simple masculine card it goes with this week's Paper Players challenge.  I think this is the fastest I've put one of my cards together!  Guess I need to start making more masculine cards if I want any cards done. lol  Don't forget to check out what the other Red Hot Stampers made HERE.

I even put something on the inside of my card. :)

Birthday Bunch

Some of you might remember Stampin' Up came out with a project I posted about a couple of weeks ago the Bloomin' Bouquet Project Kit.  At my upline's last demo meeting we put the set together.  They weren't too difficult to make, so I thought I'd make a couple of my own kind.  I grabbed the Mixed Bunch set and came up with these flowers.  I made it into a b-day card for my sister-in-law. :)  I used the Mojo Monday #293 sketch challenge for the design, and the Paper Players color challenge #145 for the colors.  I must say, I thought it was hard to get good pics when I use shimmer paint, but the heat and stick powder with dazzling diamonds is worse!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!
