Serene Sunset

I must say making cards for teenage boys is way too hard!  Right now I don't really have any sets that fit them, so I decided to just sponge and stamp a scene for my nephew.  Probably not his thing, but I sure enjoyed making the card.  I wish the camera would have taken a better picture too, but it just couldn't get it to show that the sponging in the picture is darker than what it looks.  That's just the way it goes sometimes!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

RHSSC - Mother's Day Card

It's Sunday and time for another Red Hot Stampers' sketch challenge card.   We had an additional challenge to also make it a Mother's Day Card.  Well, that was easy enough to do. :)  It might not look like I followed the sketch because it is a little hard to see in the picture  but I did. :)  I scored lines on my card instead of using ribbon or additional paper.  I didn't want to block the doily stamp. :)  I'm also entering it into the Paper Players theme challenge since it's Mother's Day.  Don't forget to check out what the other Red Hot Stampers made this week with the same sketch.  Check them out here.

Midnight Muse Moon

Hello everyone!  Today's card is for my brother-in-law's birthday.  I don't think he looks at my blog, so I think I can post it early. lol  So there are a couple of reasons I made the card this way...meaning why I made it dark.  Do you ever look to the west after the sun sets and it seems like all across the horizon there is a haze of rainbow colors?  I know I do!  Other times I look to the west and the night sky is this beautiful dark blue color.  I wanted to capture that color on a card and finally did it! :)  I usually sponge all of the colors when I have a moon in the background like this, but I wanted to try my hand at using the brayer.  I don't use it much at all and thought I should get some practice with it if I ever want to be good at it.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Today's card is another April stamp a stack card.  I wanted to use the hydrangea stamp featured in the Best of Twenty-five Years ~ Flowers.  I also wanted to make the cards pretty simple to make, and I think this was the easiest one. :)

New Project Kit from Stampin' Up! ~ Bloomin' Bouquet

Well, I didn't get a chance last evening to post anything to my blog.  One of our dacshunds managed to get out of his cage while we were gone and ate WAY too much chocolate.  Yes, he climbed onto my desk, then stood on my two-drawer filing cabinet and stretched as far as he could to sneak a bag of chocolate from on top of my four-drawer filing cabinet.  The only reason I found out is because he knocked off my daughter's piggy bank and I found it in pieces on the floor. :(  Needless to say it was a long night for us last night, but he's doing ok today. :)

So instead of showing you a card that I've done I thought I let you know about the  Stampin' Up! Bloomin' Bouquet Project Kit and watch the video here on how to put them together.  They are very simple too do!  I love making 3-D flowers, so this project is right up my alley. :)

Happiest Birthday Cardinal

It's Sunday so that means it's time for a Red Hot Stampers' challenge card.  Today's card isn't my norm, but my mother-in-law's birthday is coming up, and I wanted to use this sketch challenge for it....oh, and she loves cardinals too. :)  Let's hope she does't see my blog or she'll be seeing her card a couple of days early. lol  I tried to make the card as springy as possible since cardinals usually go on Christmas cards.  My hubby thinks it looks ok so that's good enough for me.   As you can tell I also flipped where I put my bird.  After I put him together I realized I made him backwards, and I wasn't doing him over again to match the sketch! lol  Don't forget to check out what the other Red Hot Stampers made using this challenge here.
