New Project Kit from Stampin' Up! ~ Bloomin' Bouquet

Well, I didn't get a chance last evening to post anything to my blog.  One of our dacshunds managed to get out of his cage while we were gone and ate WAY too much chocolate.  Yes, he climbed onto my desk, then stood on my two-drawer filing cabinet and stretched as far as he could to sneak a bag of chocolate from on top of my four-drawer filing cabinet.  The only reason I found out is because he knocked off my daughter's piggy bank and I found it in pieces on the floor. :(  Needless to say it was a long night for us last night, but he's doing ok today. :)

So instead of showing you a card that I've done I thought I let you know about the  Stampin' Up! Bloomin' Bouquet Project Kit and watch the video here on how to put them together.  They are very simple too do!  I love making 3-D flowers, so this project is right up my alley. :)

Happiest Birthday Cardinal

It's Sunday so that means it's time for a Red Hot Stampers' challenge card.  Today's card isn't my norm, but my mother-in-law's birthday is coming up, and I wanted to use this sketch challenge for it....oh, and she loves cardinals too. :)  Let's hope she does't see my blog or she'll be seeing her card a couple of days early. lol  I tried to make the card as springy as possible since cardinals usually go on Christmas cards.  My hubby thinks it looks ok so that's good enough for me.   As you can tell I also flipped where I put my bird.  After I put him together I realized I made him backwards, and I wasn't doing him over again to match the sketch! lol  Don't forget to check out what the other Red Hot Stampers made using this challenge here.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Elements of Style in Black and Gray

I know...the card I posted yesterday used this same stamp set, but I made this card for my April stamp a stack before I knew this set was on the retired list.  My daughter actually helped me come up with this card.  She said all of my cards use too much Very Vanilla or Whisper White card stock.  She's right...I use a lot of those colors! lol  I really like them though, and I'll still use them.  It was nice to make a card a little different from my norm though.

So long to some of my favorites...

Today's card is inspired by this week's Paper Players Clean and Simple Challenge #142 - A one-layer card.    Now that's a hard one for me because I like to add a little dimension to my cards.  When trying to figure out what to use I decided why not use a bunch of things that are retiring since I won't be using them much longer.  Well, maybe I will for my personal stuff, but not for my stamp a stacks or card classes. :(  My favorite thing that is going is the Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint that I spritz on my cards.  I don't know what I'm going to do without it!  I use it on a LOT of my cards because it adds so much to them.  I think I'll keep using it as long as I have some on hand! :)   I also picked one of my two favorite sets that is retiring and colored it in with retiring colors (except So Saffron).  It's kind of hard to see in my picture, but I scored a rectangle and only colored on the inside of it, then spritzed only the outside of the card.

Also don't forget about the retiring stamp sets and accessories.  The retiring stamp sets HERE are available until June 3, and the accessories HERE are available while supplies last!

Mojo Monday's The Open Sea

Well I had a very small group turn up for my stamp a stack this month, but I was so tired it was nice to sit and relax a little this time.  I did manage to make two of the five cards while they were stamping too, so that was nice.  This is the only masculine card that we did, but I loved how it turned out.  I used Mojo Monday's sketch challenge here for the design and saw a few cards out there that used similar colors to this that I liked.

RHSSC Punch Art Baby Card

It's Sunday so that means it's time for another Red Hot Stampers' sketch challenge post.  Yikes, it's been a week since I've posted!  Well, I'll have a few cards to show you this week since I have a stamp a stack on Tuesday.  I'd better get busy too!!  Well, today's card follows the sketch...kind of. lol  I needed a baby card and saw really cute card using these punch art animals by Doris Denman, and I had to give them a try.  I think hers turned out way cuter, but I wanted something with more boy colors since that's the kind of card I needed...I know, I used a little pink. :)  Oh, and don't forget to check out the Red Hot Stampers cards made with this same sketch here
