I saw this card on Splitcoast by Diane and loved the colors and layout!  I thought the orange and green would be perfect colors for fall flowers.  Thanks for the inspiration Diane!

Happy Birthday!

Today's card is for my wonderful upline, Glenda!  It was her birthday yesterday, so I wanted to make her a special card. :)  My inspiration for her card is from a few different places.  I first saw this flower on the cover of the Stampin' Up! Stampin' Success demonstrator magazine and loved it! The card design is from the Paper Players sketch challenge...so glad these are out here because it's nice to have a design so I don't have to come up with one.  The flower is from my garden.  Late in August I finally got some beautiful flowers from one of my dahlia plants that I thought was going to die earlier in the summer.  When it finally bloomed I took some pictures in hopes of recreating one of them. Definitely not the same as the real flower, but I love how it turned out!  Just wish the picture turned out better. :(

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Thank You Carnation

Today's card is a thank you for a couple that has been very kind and generous.  One of the things I received was a beautiful bouquet of flowers, and I wanted to copy one of the flowers from it.  Well, one was a carnation and that's my favorite flower...and I've made a few of them lately!  Since I've been trying to enter sketch challenges I used the Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge for my card's design.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Thank You - RHSSC

It's Sunday, so that means it's time for another Red Hot Stampers sketch challenge.  I did make my card a little bit different from the sketch.  I wanted all of the ink colors to show on the strip so I moved the oval up and put the sentiment on the bottom.  Keep reading to see the other challenges that inspired this card...

The theme for the Stampin Celebration Blog this month is rich warm colors and I put those into my card.  And those colors came from the Friday Mashup challenge...Indian Summer and a mix of five colors.  One of those colors is Cajun Craze and when I grabbed the ink pad I found out that it's the first time I've used it!  The ink pad was still wrapped in the plastic.  It seemed to blend in well with today's challenges though. :)

Vintage Elements of Style

Today I was going to post the card I made for my niece's wedding last night and realized (once I was at the wedding, of course) that I never took any pictures!  So back to a card we made at my September stamp a stack.  I got the idea for my card from kellichan over on Splitcoast.  I love the vintage look and her colors, but I didn't have any ribbon in perfect plum, so I opted for some more fall like colors since that was kind of my theme for this  month's stamp a stack.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Flower Garden

Well, this card started out as one of my stamp a stack cards, but it didn't last long!  I was really looking to make something with fall colors, but still using flowers.  I decided to give this technique a try when I saw it over on the  Hand Stamped Sentiments technique challenge.  It's a pretty neat technique, but definitely not for a stamp a stack.  Hmm...maybe I need to start a techniques class too. :)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!
