Happy Birthday, Annie!

Well, I downloaded what I thought was the just the pics I took of today's card and forgot that I had gone through my yard when the weather was so warm and had taken a few pics of of flowers and my favorite is my "weeping" cherry tree.  It surely doesn't want to weep even with all the trimming I've done!  I think they gave us the wrong kind. lol  Oh well, it's still pretty when it blooms!

Looking toward the sky from under the tree.

Anyway, on to the real reason for this post...Happy 13th Birthday to my niece.  I'm told she likes the color yellow.  I surely hope so because this card has a lot of yellow on it!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Ok, I've updated this to show you were I got the instructions on how to make the sweet peas.  The link is at the bottom where I have all my card's info.

Welcome to Sunday.  That means it's time for another Red Hot Stampers' sketch challenge.  Today's card has flowers on it that I've wanted to make for a while, but never took the time to do.  I actually have sweet peas that climb one side of the fence of our dog pen in the back yard and they look so pretty in the summer when the flowers are blooming.

Check out some other cards made with this sketch here.  If you're game why not make up a card yourself for the challenge. :)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Card Stock:  Wisteria Wonder, Pretty in Pink, So Saffron, Wild Wasabi,
Bashful Blue, Perfect Plum & Whisper White
Classic Stampin' Pads:  Rose Red, Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi,
Marina Mist, Perfect Plum & Elegant Eggplant
Embossing Folder:  Perfect Polka Dots
Punches:  Butterfly, Boho Blossoms ( used one similar to a star) & Bird (used wing)
Ribbon:  5/8" Organza in Whisper White

Click here for the link to the tutorial that I watched to make my flowers...thanks to Maria!  I used the Boho Blossom punch for the bottom of each flower and cut out two sections of it and folded it over.  I couldn't get the other punched piece to work.  Maria's looked so nice and mine did not! lol  Also, notice I used ink pads slightly darker than the card stock that I used.  Before I sprayed my "flowers" with water I sponged around all of the edges with the ink.  The ink really bleeds, so when the flowers end up drying they have bled some of the darker ink on the tips and into the flower a bit.  You can't see it in the picture, but it looks nice in person! :)

Pretty Pansy

Wow, it seems like all of my cards are really bright lately!  I guess I've been enjoying this spring weather too much.  Ok, I toned down the pink a little bit and added some yellow in to make a cute little pansy.  I figured it's been a while since I had made one, so it was time for another. :)  Anyway, this card was for my niece's birthday this past week and I used the Stampin Queens Sketch Challenge for my design.

Happy Birthday, Erica!!

Today's card is for my daughter Erica who is 22!!  Wow, where does the time go?!  Yesterday while I was at work we decided that we were getting together in the evening for her birthday supper, and I hadn't even made her card yet...yikes!  So I fly home from work with 30 minutes to get a card ready.  Good thing I had already looked through some challenges earlier in the day and was planning the card a little in my mind before I headed home.  I used the challenge from The Friday Mashup "Faux Mother of Pearl Technique" with a sketch to go with it.  It was fun to do and very simple!  I think it worked great for this card.

Here's a couple of fun pics of our evening out...

A couple of pictures of me and my girls.

Dodging pictures as usual...

Yup, her dad.  Why would anyone do that?!?!

Not sure what's happening here!

Ok, he really does look normal. :)

Less is More - In Wilderness

Well, today's card is a little different than my norm, but I needed a card for my cousin and that meant a masculine card.  I was looking through some sketch challenges to get an idea going and this week at  Less is More their theme is "masking".  I figured I could make a pretty good masculine card using that technique.  I ended up doing a little more masking (sponging) than I planned on though...darn fingers decided to leave some prints where it was supposed to be white! lol

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Wow, I actually finished my card for the Red Hot Stampers a day earlier than normal, was about to climb in bed and realized I never scheduled anything for it on my blog!  I guess it could be because I was gone for part of my weekend helping cook for a group at a camp our church supports.  It's always fun to get together with friends and spend time working (and playing) together!  Anyway, since it's Sunday, that means it's time for another card for the Red Hot Stampers sketch challenge.  This was a fun card to do because I finally bought some watercolor wonder crayons that I've wanted to use with this set. I'll have to see what else I can come up with using them.  Check out some other cards using this design  here.  And if you're not having too much fun enjoying your summer weather when it's still really winter (at least in Michigan!) you can make a card too.

I even managed to do something on the inside for once!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

I've been working on this card for a few days hoping I'd get it done in time to enter it into this week's Stamping 411 Saturday Sketch Challenge.  I guess trying to start up a web page for someone is more work than I thought! lol  I'm giving it my best shot, but needed to stamp a bit in between to take a break. :)
