Hello, Baby

Happy Friday!  Today I have another fun card for you from the Friday Mashup challenge.  This week's challenge is from Lisa, so let's take a look...

Create a Project using "Animals".
Create a "Shaker card" project.
or Mash it up! and create a "Shaker Card with an Animal".

I decided to make a small baby card for a friend's daughter's baby shower and used all retired stamps for it! lol  I love the set Fox and Friends from Stampin' Up! and just can't get rid of it because it makes such cute baby cards, just wish the pic turned out better.  I'm sure some of you have a few sets out there that you just don't want to get rid of too. :)

If you've never made a shaker card here's you chance.  It's not too hard to do and the results are so cute! :)  Make sure you head over to the Friday Mashup HERE to get some inspiration from the design team and play along too.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Bokeh Thanks

Wow, what a fun mashup challenge Holly has for us this week at the Friday Mashup!  It took a little thought and a couple of tries, but I think I ended up with a pretty cool card.  Here's Holly's mashup challenge...

Create a project with the "Bokeh Technique".  Link to technique here.
Create a project with "Die Cuts".
or Mash it Up! and create a "Bokeh project using a Die Cut".

Make sure you visit the Friday Mashup HERE to check out all the cards everyone made.  I have to say I love how they all turned out!

We'd all love to see what you create for mashup #174!

Welcome Back!

Well, I'm a little late posting my Friday Mashup card.  I headed north for the weekend and usually don't have a problem getting online...not this time! lol  Now that I'm out of the woods and in the open a little bit I have access again.  Anyway, it's time for another challenge from the Friday Mashup.  This time Cindy has a fun challenge for us and it's all about school...

Create a project with " a School theme".

Create a project with "Your School Colors".
or Mash it Up! and create a "School themed project with your school's colors".

I know I keep saying this, but my cards this week have definitely not been the norm for me.  I've really had to think outside the box, but that's a good thing.  :)  I have to admit I wasn't sure what to use for school colors since I home schooled my kids through most of their time in school, so I went with my own school colors from way back in the day. lol  I did go pretty simple for my card though...a blackboard with a few things written on it and the traditional apple.

Make sure you head over to the Friday Mashup HERE to see what everyone has created for you and to play along.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Corner Garden Display

Today's card is a little different than my norm, but I still like it. :)  I know, the top right of the card is a little bare, but I decided to wait until I knew what I was going to use my card for before putting words on it.  And since it's Friday any of you that follow me regularly know this card is for the Friday Mashup challenge.  This week's fun challenge is from Lynda and it is...

Create a project with " Melon Mambo, Wild Wasabi, Basic Black & Whisper White".
Create a project with a "Wood Element".
or Mash it Up! and create a " Project using the colors above & a Wood element".

I did say the first time I used the Corner Garden stamp I would emboss it instead of color it and that's exactly what I did!  I used the VersaMark Pad and stamped it on Basic Black card stock and embossed it with white embossing powder.  Then I did the same thing except on Whisper White and carefully cut out the flowers and leaves from the white card stock.  Then I used my sponges to color in each of my flowers.   I could have colored it with Blendabilities markers, but I love sponging so I opted for that to get Melon Mambo and Wild Wasabi on my card.  I also ran one piece of Whisper White card stock through the Woodgrain embossing folder to get the wood element part of the challenge.

Make sure you head over to the Friday Mashup challenge HERE to see what the other designers created for this challenge.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Punch Art & Pom Poms

Happy Friday Everyone!  I'm SO glad it's here. :)  Since it's Friday you all know that it's time for a card for the Friday Mashup challenge, and I have a fun card to share with you...at least I hope you think it's fun!  If you do keep on reading to see how you can win it! :) This week our challenge is from Avery...and boy did she challenge us, but WOW did the design team come up with some great cards!  Here is this round's challenge...

Create a project with "Pom Poms".
Create a project with "Punch Art:
or Mash it Up! and create a "Punch Art project with Pom Poms on it".

I have to say I had NO idea what to do for this at first since I was determined to mash things up.  But then I started thinking about palm trees and maybe how I could make the pom poms their leaves, then that made me think about the funky Dr. Seuss trees.  Yes, my mind totally wanders like that!  Does yours? lol  Anyway, after thinking about Dr. Seuss tress I started thinking about Horton Hears a Who.  That's when my older daughter informed me I was thinking of the wrong movie and she told me to look up The Lorax.  Yup, those were the trees I was thinking of!  Now how to create the Lorax???  I asked her to grab me my owl punch and things started flying from there.  She tossed my bitty butterfly punch on the table and said use this (look at his head, mustache and eyebrows...totally made using that punch!).  Then it was time for her to go to bed and that meant me too since her "room" is kind of in my craft room right now. lol  Can you imagine having and idea in your head and not being able to run with it right then and there.  Yup, she totally did that to me, but I survived...whew!

Make sure you head on over to the Friday Mashup blog HERE to see what the other designers made and to play along because we'd love to see what you can create too!

Ok...would you like a chance to win this card?  If so just let me know by posting a comment on my blog  here at the bottom of my post.  Yup, that's all you need to do have a chance at winning this card...post a comment. :)  I'll be using a random number generator on Excel to chose the number for me.  I'll post the winner next Monday the 4th so stay tuned.  If this goes over well maybe I'll have to give it a try again in a month.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Fancy Flowering Flourishes

Today's card has a technique that's new to me, sort of.  I've seen it before, but never actually made a card using it.  I really enjoyed trying it, and it wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be. :)  So let's see what the challenge is for the next round of the Friday Mashup.  Tara's fun challenge for us is...

Create a project using the "Sketch".
Create a project using the "Delft Tile Technique". Tutorial here
or Mash it Up! and create a project using the "Sketch & Delft Tile Technique".

The first thing I did was pick a stamp set that I thought would work for this technique.  Yup, I pulled out Flowering Flourishes.  I have to say this set was gathering a little dust on it...not literally, but it's been a LONG time since I've used it.  I thought it would look good with browns so I chose crumb cake and baked brown sugar.

Make sure you visit the Friday Mashup HERE to see the other designers' sketches and delft tile technique that they each did.  What a lot of cool cards!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Birthday Blooms

It's Friday, so that means another card made using the Friday Mashup challenge.  This week I'm hostessing the challenge and this is what I have for you...

Create a project using a "Background Stamp".
Create a project with "something 3-D on it".
or Mash it Up! and create a "project with a 3-D element and a Background Stamp".

I love using background stamps since they add to any card.  I have to admit I have a hard time leaving white space on my cards!  I did a little on this one just to change things up a bit...plus it wouldn't fit across the whole card. lol

I thought I'd go all out on the 3-D part of this challenge only because it's been quite a while since I've had a chance to make any flowers like this.  It's up to you what you want to do to to make something 3-D.  Check out what all the other designers made HERE.  Lots of  different ideas out there, and that's what makes it so fun. :)

I can't forget to add where I got my colors from.  They are on this week's challenge from the ColorQ Challenge.  As soon as I saw these colors I knew they were what I wanted to use.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

World of Dreams

Happy Friday, Everyone!  Today I've created a relaxing scene for you to enjoy.  For those of you that know me a little bit you know I enjoy sponging, and I decided it was time to pull the sponges out again and have a little fun with this week's mashup from Lisa...

Create a project using the colors
"Hello Honey, Lost Lagoon & Mossy Meadow".

Create a project with a "Summer" theme .

(Beach, Picnic, Swimming, etc.)

or Mash it Up! and create a "Summer project using the colors above"

I have to admit I wasn't sure what I was going to do with these three colors, but after I decided to sponge a scene they just came together.  I also had to use one stamp from the new set World of Dreams.  I have a feeling I'm going to enjoy using this set!

Make sure you head over to the Friday Mashup HERE to check out all the other great cards for this challenge and play along too.

Since my card is kind of a summer beach I though I'd add this card to the Paper Players challenge too.  If you haven't heard of them make sure you check them out.  Lots of talented designers over there.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!
