Wonderland

Just a quick post for you today to show you the birthday card I made for my son.  He's 22 today!  I think the older I get the faster time goes!  Anyone else feel that way?

Since I already had the stamp set Wonderland out on my craft table I decided I'd use it again.  I looked through a few sketches and decided to play along with one that I haven't done in quite a while...Hand Stamped Sentiments.  I have to admit I didn't follow the sketch exactly, but kind of did the gist of it. :)

Yup it's a pretty dark card, but I just love the way the blues look against the dark background so I'm sticking with it. :)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!
Sara

  2. Very clever interpretation of our sketch! I love the way you added the snow. It may be dark but is a great representation of a night card. Thanks for playing with us at HSS.

  6. I love your card, very masculine, which is hard to find. I have never heard of frisket, but I just ordered some and wondered if you have a post or would you post about how to use it. Thanks and I enjoy your blog.

  7. Hi Paula,
Thanks so much and I'm glad you enjoy my blog! :) The best way I can describe liquid frisket is that it's kind of like liquid rubber. I've only used it for snow in the sky or stars in the sky. To get that look I flick it onto the piece of cardstock that I'll be using (make sure you have paper towels under it!). I just use a toothbrush with stiff bristles to get it on. Basically I dip the tip of the toothbrush into the frisket, bend the bristles back and let it fly. lol I usually do it twice to get a lot on there like with this card. Next you have to let it dry for about an hour I think. If you are like me and want to make the card right away just use your heat gun on a low setting and that will dry it pretty quickly. :) Once it's dry you can do your brayering, sponging and stamping then just rub the frisket off. Just make sure your ink is good and dry otherwise when you rub the frisket off the ink can run into what's supposed to stay white! I usually rub it off gently with a kleenex. I hope this info helps! If you have anymore questions about it let me know.
