Stampin' Up ~ Botanical Birthday

Oops!  I forgot to post my cards for today's sketch challenge at Try Stampin' or Not on Tuesday!  I realized it early this morning, but couldn't get to it until this evening.

As you can see we have another fun sketch for you to play with today.  I'd didn't follow it exactly, but you get the idea.  Head over to Try Stampin' HERE to see the other great sketches made with this card.  If you get a chance we'd love to see what you create!

It was fun to mix a couple of the 2015-2017 In Colors with a couple of the new 2016-2018 In Colors

As you can see by the first picture I decided to make two cards with this sketch. :)  Just flip the background around, add the flowers, leaves and jewels...and you're good to go!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Botanical Builder Birthday in Black

The card I posted yesterday used colors from the colorQ challenge, which I love! In yesterday's post I told you I made the card for my daughter only to remember when it was done that she's not a big fan of white cards.  I said I was going to create another one similar to that with a black card base and that's exactly what I did today.

I used the sketch from Stampin' Celebration challenge #123 since it was similar to what I made yesterday and I wanted to play with another challenge. :)

I can't say if I like the black or white card better, but I sure do love the other four colors I used. :)  Ok, I think I like the black just a little better, but don't tell my daughter that or she'll say she was right about those dark colors! ;)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Botanical Builder Birthday

Today's card is a bright and cheerful card...at least I think it is. :)  I made it for my daughter since she isn't going to be around when it's her birthday and I want to send it with her.  I decided to look through some blog challenges that I follow to help me out since I haven't played with many lately.  The bright colors from the challenge colorQ caught my eye and the sketch challenge at Create With Connie and Mary was just the type of layout I was looking for.

I used colors as close to the ones listed as I could.  I never had Poppy Parade because I was just getting into Stampin' Up! when they had that color.  I used Watermelon Wonder instead since it seems to be pretty close.  I did have Lucky Limeade once upon a time, but I don't have anymore of the card stock left so I used Pear Pizzazz.  I sure wouldn't mind if Stampin' Up! brought these two colors back if they revamp their colors again.

This is the fun sketch that I used from Create with Connie and Mary.  I have to admit I like a sketch that has a little something to it, but not too much to it and this one is just right!

After I finished the card I realized I can't give it to my daughter!  Why?  Because she doesn't care for white cards! lol  She likes cards nice and dark.  I think I'm going to use all of the same colors except the white and create something similar with a black background instead.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Beautiful Botanicals

I have some cute cards to show you today.  I made them for a swap with a few fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrators. :)  I was trying to make something that was quick and simple.  I don't think it was too hard to make.  It did take a bit of time to cut all the pieces out, but not as bad as I thought it would be.  I liked them so much that I also made them for my February stamp a stacks.

After cutting all the pieces out I sponged around all the edges.  I used Rose Red on all the flowers and banner, and used Garden Green on the leaves.  You don't have to do it on the leaves, but it just gives it a little more detail than if you don't sponge them.  Since I didn't use the stamp set that went with the framelits I sponged instead.

I also  used my bone folder on everything except the banner.  I didn't want all of my flowers flat so I curved them slightly.  They can still be mailed and should pop back up after taking them out of the envelope...I hope! lol

I used glue dots to attach everything and then I was done.  Pretty simple. :)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Botanical Birthday

Today's card shows that I finally had a chance to play with some flowers.  As much as I love winter (when there's snow!) I also miss walking in my yard and checking out the different flowers that I have all around.  The sketch challenge this week at Try Stampin' on Tuesday was the perfect sketch to play with some flowers and I did that with the Botanical Builders Framelits Dies.

Make sure you head over to Try Stampin' on Tuesday HERE and check out what the other designers did with this sketch.  And show us what you create if you get a chance. We'd love to see it! :)

I sponged around the edges of each of the flowers and used my bone folder to curl the paper.  That gives the flower a lot more dimension.  I also made a little boxed envelope with a band to go around it with flowers on it too for my niece's birthday.  I totally forgot to take pictures of that though! I wasn't there when she opened it, but was told she really liked it. :)  I hope so!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!
