Thinking of You...

Here is another card I made over the weekend while I was away.  The colors for this challenge were inspired by the Color Throwdown challenge #339, but I wasn't able to get it posted in time. :(  I didn't think I'd like the colors very much on the flowers, but decided to give it a try.  I have to admit I like how they turned out. :)  My daughter sure didn't though, so I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder after all. lol  I used the sketch from Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge #210.  I loved the line of flowers they had on their sketch and after pulling out a few different stamp sets decided flowers were the thing to do.  I thought about butterflies and hats, but really wanted to try the black and yellow together so flowers it was.

I seem to be in the habit of putting three pics up lately.  I like to see it turned to each side and straight on.  I hope no one minds. :)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Blue Beauty

Today's card is made using the sketch from Try Stampin' on Tuesday.  Love this sketch and how my card turned out. :)  Plus it was pretty simple to make other than fussy cutting the flower.

Make sure you head over to Try Stampin' on Tuesday HERE to check out the other cute cards made using this sketch and show us what you can create with it.

Just a couple more pics at different angles.  It's hard to tell in the pics, but I used dimensionals to pop up the flower and leaves.

You can't see it in this picture, but I did use vanilla smooch spritz to make my flower sparkle. :)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Sweet Stippled Blossoms

Today there's another fun sketch over at Try Stampin' on Tuesday and this is my take on it.  Even though fall is already on it's way I still wanted to use flowers.  I just have them a little darker and used three of the new In Colors for this card since they're great fall colors!  Try Stampin' on Tuesday has also started up themes again,...Back to School, but I didn't go with it this time.  Since all my kiddos are out of school (well other than college) I decided to skip that part, plus I just don't know what to do for a school theme! lol

Make sure you stop by Try Stampin' on Tuesday's blog HERE to see all the other great cards and to play along with us too.  We'd love to see what you create using this sketch.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Smell the Roses

What do I have for you to see today?  A card for Try Stampin' on Tuesday's sketch challenge.  I have to admit I had a hard time trying to decide what to make for this challenge.  I (once again) fudged a little on the sketch.  Since I didn't know what to do I started looking at other challenges and saw that this week's Paper Players' challenge was a color challenge.  I loved the three colors together and that's when an idea popped into my mind.  Why not use the three colors at the bottom of each of the pieces I embossed.  And since the twist is "Smell the Roses" I decided to use the set Stippled Blossoms since it looks pretty close to a rose.

Make sure you head over to Try Stampin' on Tuesday HERE to see the other great cards made using this challenge, and to play along if you get a chance!

Just another view of the card. :)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Stippled Blossoms Birthday Wishes

Today I have a card for you using this week's Try Stampin' on Tuesday's sketch challenge. This was a great sketch to work with, and I actually had a few ideas in my head.  I used this color combo though since I haven't done any cards with it in a while.  Head on over to Try Stampin' on Tuesday's blog HERE to check out what the other designers have made using this sketch.  Oh, I almost forgot to add what the twist is for the week...use a photo.  I decided to "frame" a flower for my photo.  Hope you like it and are inspired to join us this week at Try Stampin' on Tuesday

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Spring Stippled Blossoms

Hi Everyone!  Today's card is for the challenge I'm hosting this week over at the Friday Mashup.  This week we're playing with colors and a technique...

Use the colors "Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi & Perfect Plum".
Use "an Aqua Painter or a Blender Pen to create a Watercolor Effect".
Or mash it up with the "Colors above & a Watercolor Effect".

Since I haven't used the set Stippled Blossoms in quite a while I decided to pull it out, dust it off and give it another try. I always love how my cards turn out when I use this set.  I used the three colors, but did I give it a watercolor effect?  I sure did!  It's just a little hard to see in the picture.  After I stamped each of the flowers I used my aqua painter to blend the colors together.  Usually when I stamp with this set everything is very crisp.  It still looks nice, just has more of a blended effect which is what I was looking for.  After I blended the colors I let them dry, cut out the flowers and (of course!) spritzed everything with smooch spritz to make it shimmer. :)  Don't forget to visit us at the Friday Mashup HERE to check out what all the other designers made.  Their cards are fabulous!  Well, they are every week, but I loved what each of them did using this week's mashup.  Don't forget to play along to show us what you can create. :)

Oh, I almost forgot to add where I got my card design from.  Can't forget to mention that!  It's been so long since I've played along with a challenge I almost forgot ! lol  As soon as I saw this week's sketch challenge from the Paper Players I knew exactly what I was going to make.  It usually takes me a while to figure out what I want to do since it never seems to turn out on my card the way I thought it would in my head.  Anyone else ever have that problem? lol  For once that wasn't the case...whew!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Stippled Blossoms

Today's card is a clean and simple one using Freshly Made Sketches #109.  For some reason I wanted to make it in red and green.  Maybe because I've been working on Christmas cards and wanted to use the traditional colors since I haven't used them on any of my cards yet..who knows. lol

Can't forget the inside of the card. :)

Thinking of You and Sponging Too

Today's card is one I quickly whipped up since I've been busy working on my cards For the Inky Fingers Club Summer Session.  Since I usually have a card or two left over from my stamp a stacks I decided to grab one of those to make a new one.  I think Pool Party and Soft Sky go pretty well with the Baja Breeze card stock I already had cut up. :)

Speaking of Inky Fingers I've been doing a LOT of sponging (and really do have inky fingers!)  After all the work I've been doing I can't wait to see what the other ladies are making for the summer session too.  Below are some cards that I've made in the past using the sponging technique if you're wondering what this is all about.  I'll be giving detailed step by step instructions with a lot of pictures on four new cards that I've created special for this club if you're interested in learning how to do this yourself.

Rich Razzleberry Stippled Blossoms

Today's card is my last May stamp a stack card.  All I have to say is if you're anything like me don't try designing your cards after midnight.  It took me three tries to get this card right because I kept stamping my leaves in the Rich Razzleberry ink instead of the greens!  I love how it turned out once I finally got it right though! lol

RHSSC - Stippled Blossoms

It's Sunday so that means it's time for another Red Hot Stampers' sketch challenge card.  I finally bought the Stippled Blossoms set and used it for our challenge this week.  I really like how this card turned out.  Not that I don't like my other cards, but sometimes some cards just stand out more than others to me. :)  Don't forget to check the Red Hot Stampers' blog HERE to see what the other ladies made.  Lots of great, but different ideas using this design.  Why not give it a try yourself this week and show us what you made? :)

I actually did something on the inside of the card this time too. :)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!
