Rich Razzleberry Apothecary Art

Oops...not getting this posted as soon as I usually do!  Today's card is for this week's Try Stampin' on Tuesday sketch challenge and the twist is Girlfriends.  I can't really say I did the twist unless you count a birthday card sent to a girlfriend...nope, probably not.  For today's card I pulled out a set I haven't using in quite a while...Apothecary Art.  I've always loved this set and am glad it didn't retire. :)  I used some sponges around the edge and Blendablilites to color them in.  I love them!  So easy to use and no water running anywhere or paper falling apart from too much "coloring".

Remember to head on over to Try Stampin' on Tuesday HERE to see what other great cards are made using this sketch and play along if you get a chance.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Pretty Petite Petals

Hi Everyone ~  I've updated this post to let you know how I made the thin layer behind the framelit die.  For those of you who use them a little or even a lot might notice there's a pretty big gap between the sizes of the framelits.  That's great when you want to do some paper-piercing, but not so great sometimes when you want a thinner color underneath.  Below this post I give instructions on how to make it thinner if you don't already know.  I'm sure there are other ways too, this is just what I've been doing. :)

Today's card is a challenge from the Red Hot Stampers group that I'm a part of.  I'm SO far behind on these and want to try and catch up.  We'll see how it goes in the coming weeks.  I definitely wanted to make something that reminds me of spring and summer so I hauled out two sets with flowers that have coordinating punches.  It's so nice to punch out flowers sometimes instead of needing to hand cut them. :)

Instructions on how to make a thin layer behind framelits.

I guess I didn't start with the main piece, but in this sample it's a white piece cut out with the second smallest Deco Label Framelit.  I also cut out two of the same size in the color I want underneath my top piece.  Below is a picture of how you cut the pieces up so you can layer them under your main piece.

This is how it looks after you attach two of the pieces from the picture above using the pieces on the right side and attach them under the main piece.

This shows the bottom side of the above picture.

Next you attach the two side pieces.  This is how it looks finished. :)

This is how the underside of the finished piece looks.

I hope anyone who sees this is able to use it...enjoy!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Pretty Petite Petals

It's Tuesday, so that means it's time for another sketch challenge from Try Stampin' on Tuesday.  It's a great sketch this week and the twist is "well worn".  Don't forget to check out what the other designers made this week HERE.  It's my in-law's anniversary later this week so I thought this would be a great sketch for an anniversary card.

While working on this card I was hoping to stamp the piece under the flowers directly on the card stock so I wouldn't have to cut the shape out.  I'll do fussy cutting, but would rather skip it if I can! lol  As you can see I ended up cutting it out, but I also managed to get the "words" from the embossing folder onto the stamped image.  How did I do it?  It was actually on accident!

I embossed a scrap piece of paper to see if I could actually stamp over the embossed words.  As you can see in the pic below it didn't work out too well.  Only the cursive embossed letters got ink on them.  However when I turned my stamp over and looked at it this is what I saw.  I thought to myself, "Hmm...cool!  Let's see what it looks like after I stamp it again."  So I huffed on the stamp to get it damp again and stamped it...

and this is the image I got. :)  I thought it was pretty cool and thought I'd share it with anyone who reads my blog.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!
