Blossom Petals

Tonight we had our monthly Red Hot Stampers meeting, and we also had a card swap using anything from the new Occasions Mini.  I loved all the designs everyone came up with.  It's definitely a great way to get a variety of cards!   These are the cards I made for the swap.

I used sponges to get the colors on the flower petals.

Card Stock:  Rose Red, Wild Wasabi & Whisper White
Classic Ink Pads:  Rose Red & Daffodil Delight
Big Shot Embossing Folder:  Framed Tulips & Square Lattice
Punches:  Blossom Petals XL, Modern Label & 1/2" Circle
Jewels:  Basic Pearls
Tools:  Sponges & Crimper

  1. Sara, these flowers are gorgeous! Please share how you got the "texture" on the flower petals. Are they punched from Rose Red and then colored with Daffodil...or are they white, then sponged with Rose and Daffodil?
    Thanks!

  2. Barbara... The petals are punched from white card stock and then sponged. I did the rose red first and always stroked out toward the ends of the petals. Where it appears a little darker, I used my index finger (acutally more my nail) and pushed down harder when I did my strokes. I would try to do about five or more dark strokes and then fill in the rest without using my fingernail. Then for the Daffodil Delight I turned the petal around and stroked out with that one too. I hope this makes sense. If not maybe I'll have to make a video if you or anyone else is interested.

Thank you for your comments. I read everyone! If you ever wonder how I've made something I'd be glad to let you know! Sara
