Another Fabulous Florets

He is Risen!  Happy Easter Everyone!
Since it's Sunday that means it's time for another Red Hot Stampers' sketch challenge.  I thought about making a few lilies to put on my card since it's Easter, then changed my mind when I remembered how much work they are!  Instead I fell back on one of my trusted flower stamp sets and embossed the flowers in baja breeze and pool party.  What you can't see very well in the picture is the flecks of certainly celery that I have  spritzed on the card, but that's the way the picture turns out sometimes. lol  Don't forget to check out the other cards using this same sketch here over at the Red Hot Stampers blog.  If you're feeling adventurous why not give the sketch a try.  It was nice and simple this week. :)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Sparkling Swallowtails

Today I have a couple of cards to show you...one for my niece, the other for my upline.  I have to say I love this stamp!  It seems like there's so many different colors I can use with it. :)
This first card is for my niece's birthday.  I know she loves yellow, but I needed to add a bit more color so I used Primrose Petals and Pretty in Pink.  First I inked the whole image in VersaMark, then sponged on the other colors.  After I stamped my image I covered it with Heat & Stick powder, then used the heat gun.  After that I poured Dazzling Diamonds all over it and used the heat gun again.  If you want lots of sparkle that's the way to do it!

Since I really liked my niece's card I thought I'd do another one using all of the 2012-2014 In Colors.  I made this as a thank you for my upline.  Whenever I need to borrow any of her stampin' stuff for my stamp a stacks she's more than willing to share...even at the last minute. :)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Bashful-Wisteria Roses

Since it's Sunday that means it's time for another Red Hot Stampers' challenge card.  I decided to go through my supplies to try and find something I hadn't used in a while.  That's when I found my Manhattan Flower Embossing Folder.  I ran it through the Big Shot, sponged the roses, then spritzed them...gotta make them shimmer! :)  Don't forget to check out other cards made using this sketch over at the Red Hot Stampers blog here.

Pool Party Pop-Up Posies

Today I have a few last things to show you that I made using the Pop-Up Posies Designer Kit..specifically the pool party flowers.  I hope you enjoy each way I made the flowers.  I wasn't so sure about this set since I like to come up with my own 3-D flowers, but after playing with it and quickly and easily making flowers it won me over. :)  There are so many other samples online line that you can check out too.

With this flower I snipped each of the petals in half, put in the brad, then folded each of the petals forward to give it some depth.

On this flower I sponged around the edges of the petals with Island Indigo ink, put the brad in, then crumpled the petals.  The darker ink really adds some character to the flower.  I actually forgot I had made a little note card that I had slipped inside of this little envelope until I grabbed it to take some pics. lol

These were actually my favorite flowers and of course the hardest to make!  When I was messing around with the flowers I found I could make the crocuses by folding them a certain way.  I know...crocuses aren't blue.  I even checked online and they are pretty much all white, purple or yellow.  I decided to make them anyway because they were unique and they made me look forward to the first flowers that pop up in my yard every spring. :)

Pretty in Polka Dots

Yesterday was my daughter's birthday so I thought I'd make her a card with a dress on it.  I guess this is actually a challenge I got from my upline quite a while ago...make a card using the Dress Up Framelits Die.  Since the weather didn't cooperate a lot this past winter one of our meetings was cancelled...so I must confess I never did it until now. :(  I just made a nice and simple card by adding our smallest pearls as a necklace and folding the 3/8" taffeta ribbon in half and adding it as a belt.

Pretty Papillon Potpourri

These cute little 3x3 cards and small box were another thing I made to feature paper-piercing using the Occasions Paper-Piercing Pack.  I guess you really can't see the paper-piercing unless you click on the pic so it comes up bigger, but it outlines the butterflies.  I was also looking through the "Less is More" challenge and these fit the category this week...keep it clean and simple, and frame it!  The little "frames" are easy to make using two square punches.

I had to add more than one pic to get a few different views of the cards. :)

Chalkboard Technique with Elements of Style

Today's card is a technique I've never tried before that I saw over on the Friday Mashup...the chalkboard technique.  I was going to use this as one of my stamp a stack cards, but thought it would take me a lot more work to prep it than it would take the ladies to make it.  I've got to keep their cards at least a little challenging, right? ;)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!
