Strange Beauty ~ A Fun Stampers Journey Card

Today I have a Halloween card that was inspired by the colors at Try Stampin' on Tuesday's color challenge #5 and Journey Sketches challenge #48.
I couldn't resist using this big fat spider after all of the garden spiders I found in my yard this summer. 🕷🕸  To create my background I used watercolor pencils with watercolor paper.  I spritzed the paper with water until the paper was pretty wet.  I used a blending brush to pull color off my pencils onto a block, then picked up the color and dropped it all over the wet watercolor paper.  I did it a couple of times so the color was nice and dark.
These are the colors we needed to use for TSOT and the sketch from Journey Sketches.  If you get a chance to play along with these colors we'd love to see what you create!  Check out what the other designers created HERE.

The spider, web and sentiment is all heat embossed using clear pigment ink and black embossing powder.

Whip Cream
Sweet Berry
Tangerine Fusion
Pretty Pansy
Black Licorice
Thanks for looking and have a great day!
Remember all products used are listed at the bottom of each post. :)

  1. I'm not usually a fan of spiders, but this card is fantastic! I LOVE that web!! And your background looks fabulous!
