A post on a Sunday! Can you believe it? lol Since it's my anniversary I figured I should really make my hubby a card. :) As much as I love to make masculine cards, I still always wonder what I'm going to put on them. I saw a picture somewhere online and couldn't get it out of my mind, so I decided to do my own re-creation using sponges and one stamp from Wetlands. I have to admit I wish I had a stamp of trees similar to what's in Lovely as a Tree just on a smaller scale. I was hoping to put small trees in the distance on my pic, but sponging in the colors had to do for this card. :)
I was looking through a few challenges to help me come up with this card and liked the challenge at the Paper Players this week. Not sure how "vintage" or antique this card is, but I did distress the edges of the picture trying to give it a look of being a little older. :)
Thanks for looking and have a great day!

DeleteWow, what a beauty! It definitely has a vintage cast to it, and I think it's an absolute work of art! DH should love it! Thanks so much for sharing this with us this week at the Paper Players!
ReplyDeleteThank you, LeAnne. My hubby definitely loved it. :)
DeleteSara, I visit your blog regularly and always enjoy your work. But this card in particular just blows me away! So realistic and with such depth. I could look at this scene forever!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Naomi! Coming from you that's quite a compliment! :)
DeleteHow did you make the clouds with the white craft ink? Did you swipe them on with a sponge, or with the edge of the inkpad? They are just lovely.
ReplyDeleteNaomi, I swiped the white clouds with the edge of the white craft ink pad after the blue was dry. It does tend to get absorbed into the color you swipe over, so I did it a couple of times to get it to stand out a little more.
DeleteThanks! You really nailed it! GORGEOUS work!
DeleteGorgeous card! Your sponging is incredible. Thanks for joining us at The Paper Players!
