Happy New Year! All I can say is it doesn't feel any different here today than it did yesterday. It's cold and snowy...and I like it! Well, I like the snow, but not the cold. I guess I have to take one with the other though. Since it is so cold and snowy I thought I would show you a couple of bright and flowery cards I made that are similar to the sympathy card I showed you last week. It's a new set out of the Occasions catalog that you can order from starting January 3! I have to say I bought more than my share of things from the new catalog this time. Lots of great stuff in it! Ok, on to the pics of my two cards...
If you're wondering how I made these here's a few instructions...I stamped the image with Black StazOn, colored in the flower using an aqua painter and cut the flowers out. Then I stamped the cut out image all over with a VersaMark pad, covered it with clear embossing powder and melted it with the heat tool. If you don't want to deal with fussy cutting do all the same steps, but don't cut it out. Instead you color in the whole image with a VersaMarker being careful not to go outside the lines. That's what I did on the card I posted last week that is similar to these cards. Coloring it takes time, but not nearly as much as cutting the flowers out!
Thanks for looking and have a great day!
Sara

Thank you! I really learned something from you. I have this ribbon and use it all the time because it goes with everything. I NEVER thought about dying it to match my project and if I didn't see it I would not believe it would look so perfect. I really thought the colors were in the new spring catalog. Thanks for the inspiration I can't wait to try it. Your cards are beautiful thanks for sharing. Cathy
ReplyDeleteThank you, Cathy. Glad I could help you out. I love it when I learn a new trick or tip from someone. :) Have a Happy New Year!

Love these cards Sara. I'll be CASE-ing these for sure. :)
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful and the matching ribbons are such a nice touch! Very pretty!!
ReplyDeleteHow did you get the "ombre" effect of the background paper? Brayering? That is the part I really found interesting. TFS!
ReplyDeleteHi Carole ~ I did us the brayer to get the "ombre" look on the background. I started on the corner of my card stock instead of the top like I normally do.
