Sunflowers!

Well, my sunny day for the fair didn't last. :(  Nothing like being in the grandstands, which are metal by the way, and seeing lightning flash just to the west of us!  Yup, a storm decided to come our way and cancel the events for the night.  At least we were able to see half of the "show" before we had to leave.  Believe it or not, this card making, kind of crafty, girl was watching an off-road derby.  It's been a tradition for us since it started at the fair. :)  Ok, now on to today's card...   It is another one I made for my last stamp a stack.  One of the ladies had mentioned at an earlier stamp a stack that she liked sunflowers, so I thought I would come up with a card for that. :)  You inspired me, Dawn! ;)  Speaking of sunflowers, that's one flower I don't have in my flower garden anymore.  Maybe we'll have to buy more bird food so the birds can spill the sunflower seeds...then I'll have some miniature ones again. :)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Growing Green ~ For You

Well, today is starting out sunny and bright, and that's a good thing because the fair is going on around my little part of the world.  We always look forward to it, but it also means summer is going to be coming to a close in just a couple of short weeks.  I'm not so sure I'm ready for summer to be done yet this year.  Seems like it just got here!  I did manage to get a few nice pictures of the sunset on my birthday, so that should help me remember we did have summer after all. ;)

Anyway, Today's card is one that I made for my last stamp a stack and also for a card swap with The Red Hot Stampers.

Not sure if you can tell or not, but I have shimmer paint on the flower.

Every now and then I like to make the inside almost as nice as the outside. :)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

The Open Sea ~ Birthday

Today's card is made using one of my favorite masculine sets that's going to retire at the end of this month.  I made this birthday card for my mom's cousin that we see a couple of times a year...and every time he sees me he tells me thank you and how much he likes my cards.  That's always nice to hear...especially from a male!  I used the Joseph's coat technique to do this, using various blues.

A peek inside the cards...

...and one more picture.

Beautiful Wings

Today's card is for a couple of challenges that I really wanted to do, and I thought the design and colors would go together perfectly.  I used Stamping 411's sketch challenge for the design and The Friday Mashup for the colors, butterflies and bling.

Build a Blossom ~ Thinking of You

Since I'm adding my cards to my blog in the order I have them in Picasa, today's card is a "Thinking of You" card.  I can't take credit for this design, but I did change it around a little to fit what I wanted for my stamp a stack.  Thanks to Dawn Olchefske for the design!

3x3 "Thank Yous"

Well, I'm sitting here on a peaceful Sunday afternoon, and figured I could take a few minutes to update my blog since I've been neglecting it way too much this summer!  I wasn't sure what card to start with and thought I might as well just start putting them up in the order I have them saved, so here goes...  Whenever I borrow anything from other demos in my area or have an order I use 3x3's for thank yous.  I just tuck it in the bag when I return what I've borrowed, or put it in with my customer's order when I drop their supplies off.  They're quick and easy to make and I love them!

I got the design for this from a card swap I was in, but changed the colors.  Wish I could give the lady who came up with it the credit , but it's been almost a year since I was in the swap and don't remember. :(

Not only do I send thank yous, but get them in return.  I got this from my stamping friend Christi when she returned a bag to me...I love this 3x3!  Thanks, Christi!

The Open Sea ~ Birthday

Hello again, everyone.  Today's card is the only masculine card I did for my July stamp a stack, so I thought I would start with that one.  I loved how it turned out...once I figured out where to put all the pieces!  I tell ya...I SO wish this set was not retiring at the end of the month, but instead had carried over into the new catalog.  It seemed to be a very popular set.  Oh well, I can still use it all I want. :)

Thought a zoomed in picture would help a little too...

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Stamp Sets:  The Open Sea & On Your Birthday
Card Stock:  Early Espresso, Pacific Point, Crumb Cake & Whisper White
Classic Stampin' Pads:  Pacific Point
Versa Mark (for embossed images)
Punches:  1 3/8" Circle, 1 1/4" Circle, Modern Label & Word Window
Embossing Powder in White

I embossed the images on white paper using versa mark and white embossing powder.  To get the color I rubbed with a sponge starting in the center and moving out from there until I had the color just the way I wanted it.  I rubbed the embossed image with a paper towel to get the ink off the white and bring it out more.
