Today's card uses blending brushes to help create a sunset scene. It was inspired by sketch #673 at Try a Sketch on Tuesday.
To create this scene I masked the sun and dry embossed the water. Then I added two blues using blending brushes for the water, then at the horizon I added Flirty Flamingo and at the top I added Daffodil Delight. I also colored in the sun by using the piece of paper that I cut my circle mask to cover the sky so the sun was open and lightly rubbed in some Daffodil Delight. I die-cut and embossed the sailboat, did a bit of fussy cutting for the sails and popped the boat up with dimensionals. The last thing I did was darken the blue in the water to add a bit of shadow to be the bottom circle in the sketch. This is the sketch we are using this week. As usual I followed the sketch very loosely since the boat's shadow is the 3rd circle and I didn't divide the card vertically in any way.
Make sure you check out what all of the other Designer's created HERE. If you get a chance to play along, we'd love to see what you create!
Thanks for looking and have a great day!
