Peaceful Path in Watercolor

Today's card is inspired by sketch #672 from Try a Sketch on Tuesday.
I wanted to create something different and decided to paint a scene for my dad and mom's anniversary.
I used DaVinci and American Journey watercolors on Arches watercolor paper. This scene was inspired by Anastasia Mily. Her watercolor paintings are amazing! This is the video I watched a couple of times for inspiration. As you can see my painting in nothing like hers, but that's ok. We all have our own unique style and I'm just thankful there are artists out there that are willing to share their work and inspire me!
As you can see I rotated the sample 90°. By doing this I could paint my scene horizontally and add it over the rest of the layers on my card.

Make sure you check out what all of the other designers created HERE! So many great cards with this sketch! If you get a chance to play along we'd love to see what you create!
Thanks for looking and have a great day!
Sara

  1. You make watercoloring look easy and what a beautiful scene you created for your mom and dad's anniversary. Love the textured background and excellent interpretation sketch change to landscape is perfect.
