Today's card is a little different than what I usually post because I grabbed a little 3x3 painting that I painted in February and put it on a card.
Why did I do that? Because I used the wrong sketch for this week's Try a Sketch on Tuesday and ended up doing the next sketch in line. How did I miss this week's? I have no idea, but least I'm ahead now so that's a bonus for me! And why am I doing 100 Tiny Paintings in 2025? It's because I saw a short video clip on YouTube by Kristin Van Leuven and loved the painting and noticed more of them popping up in January. I really liked what I was seeing so I looked into it and signed up on Patreon to get each of the full videos and paint them throughout the year. I bought a pocket photo album for all of them and add them as I get a painting done. HERE is the short video for this painting.
This is the sketch I'm using for my inspiration. While I didn't follow it exactly I went with the idea of sand, water and sky for the layers on the sketch. Plus it also fits Thing 3's optional twist over at the Double Trouble challenge that we are combining with this week. It is water element and/or umbrella, rainboots, puddle, rainbow, etc.
Make sure you check out what all of the other designers created HERE using this sketch. I thought it was a little hard, but everyone else on the team made great cards! Maybe it's just me.I know I didn't list all of the colors used on my card because I used DaVinci Artists' watercolors from Scratchmade Journal for the painted portion. Most of the time I use the ink from Stampin' Up! when I make a card, but I'm not using them for my 100 Tiny Paintings in 2025.
Thanks for looking and have a great day!
Sara
