MERRY CHRISTMAS!
I wanted to share this year's Christmas card that I sent out to family and friends.
I've been on the road traveling to Iowa for my grandson's birthday and Christmas, so thought I'd get something typed while I was traveling for 8 hours. This is what I created for 2024.
I follow Julia Lis Art on YouTube and she is the one who the credit goes to for the painting that inspired mine. I watch most of her watercolor videos when they pop up. Make sure you check her out HERE and follow her!I made 100 of these cards to send out! The first step is to paint it, then I bring it to Staples where they scan it for me. Once it's scanned they print four per sheet on the paper that I provide for them. There's still plenty of work to do once I have those at home! I have to cut all of my printed pictures out. Then I decide what color of Stampin Up! cardstock I'm going to use. Why do I use Stampin' Up? cardstock? I guess part of it is because I am a SU! demonstrator, but I also used their Stampin' Ink refills to paint my picture so that's what's going to match the best - you can see what my glass mat looked like when I was done painting below. I continued by picking the sentiment and stamping it on each picture. Then I dry embossed on the front of the card base before cutting out and layering everything on the front of the card. My last step was stamping something on the inside. It was a lot of work, but for some reason I still want to send out Christmas cards every year! I guess getting them from other people brings me joy and I want to send as much joy as I can too!
This last picture shows the original that I painted along with a stash of my cards.
Thanks for looking and have a Merry Christmas!
Sara
