Begin Adventure ~ A Fun Stampers Journey Card

Today I have another masculine card to share with you.  This was also one of my May stamp a stack cards.

It was as simple as sponging the sun on using couple different yellows (I die-cut out a circle and masked the card stock so only the circle was open to sponge the sun), sponged some more around the sun with more yellow, stamped the airplane and birthday greeting, assembled the card and put on the twill rope (which is a freebie with a $50 purchase!).

Whip Cream
Lemon Drop
Summer Days
Black Licorice

Stay Wild ~ A Fun Stampers Journey Card

Last Tuesday I said I was going to post another card from TSOT's challenge that I changed up just a bit.  This time I didn't use any aluminum foil, added sponging so I could have the moon and I also added a bit of twine across the diagonal strip.  This was one of my May stamp a stack cards and the ladies really seemed to like it...and it's actually VERY easy to create! :)

You can check out all the other great cards created with this sketch HERE.

Dahlia Burst ~ A Fun Stampers Journey Card

Today's card is special because I made it for my mom for her birthday. :)  I know I've made a lot of blue cards lately, but it just seems to be the color that works for me...and it's my mom's favorite color. :)

I stamped the image with clear pigment ink on watercolor paper and embossed it with white embossing power.  Then I used Journey Splashes mixed with water to watercolor in the flowers and leaves.  I did a bit of light blue around the whole image too and did some blue and green splats.

Whip Cream
Cool Pool
Turbo Teal
Blue Lagoon
Lemon Grass
Green Olive

Stay Wild ~ A Fun Stampers Journey Card

I created this card a couple of week's ago for my nephew's 18th birthday.  And it was inspired by Try Stampin' or Not on Tuesday's sketch challenge #323.  That means I actually worked ahead for once...AMAZING! lol

I did change the sketch a little to fit the stamp set that I was using.  I also created a second card with this sketch also and I will post it in a couple of days.  It uses the same stamp set, but I did a little sponging on that card.  Make sure you check out all of the other fun cards the designers created using this sketch HERE.

Stay Wild in Watercolor ~ A Fun Stampers Journey Card

Today's card is a sympathy card I sent out to a friend of mine.  I don't know about anyone else, but sympathy cards are always the hardest type card for me to make.  Not that the card itself is hard, but I want to send just the right one.  I've heard a lot of people say they like to have sympathy cards on hand, but I can't do that for some reason.  I like to make something special and unique for each family.  Don't get me wrong...I don't expect that from anyone and appreciate each card I receive!

Here is a video showing how I created this card using the ATS stamp Stay Wild, the Dark Roast ink pad and Dark Roast and Gold Silk.

If you get my blog through email you'll need to go to the bottom of the email and click on "Simply Sara Stampin'".  That will bring you to my blog where you'll have access to see the video.  For some reason it doesn't show in emails!

Lovely Day ~ Fun Stampers Journey Mother's Day Cards

I know I'm a little late posting today's cards, but I wanted to make sure they were delivered before I posted them.  I made these cards for my mother and mother-in-law for Mother's Day...of course!  They each hold a special place in my heart and since I'm not very good with words I like to let my cards show everyone that I care.  Even though my favorite color is green, when it comes to making cards I think that they are overwhelmingly blue of one shade or another.  And once again I used my favorite ATS Stamp Lovely Day. :)

As you can see one card is a lighter blue than the other.  I colored the flowers with different blue Journey Burst Pencils. I believe I used  pencils 26, 30 and 32 for the lighter card with Beach Ball Satin Ribbon and I know I used pencils 30, 32 and 33 on the darker card with Catalina Splash Satin Ribbon. I hope you find them as lovely as I do. :)

Whip Cream
Pool Play
Beach Ball

Black Licorice

Decorative Doily (Stamps from May's Bloom Box!) ~ A Fun Stampers Journey Card

Today's card is inspired by Try Stampin' or Not on Tuesday's sketch challenge #321.  I have to admit I didn't know what I was going to do, but when I showed my upline the sketch she said, "Use May's Bloom Box".  Duh...why didn't I think of that!? lol  I have to say these are really intricate and beautiful doily stamps.  There are three different stamps and I used them all on my card, but not as individual stamps.  The smallest doily was added to the bottom right doily just to change it up a bit because I didn't want two of the same doilies.

Here is this week's sketch.  I did have to turn mine sideways to get everything to fit, but that's the way it goes with my cards...most of the time! lol  Make sure you check out all the other great cards made using this sketch HERE

Lovely Day ~ A Fun Stampers Journey Card

Can you tell that one of my favorite stamps lately is the ATS Lovely Day? :)
I created this card for a challenge as a part of Fun Stampers Journey.  It was inspired by the circle card I created a week or so ago.  This card is really supposed to be all black and white, but I couldn't resist adding a pop of color and did that using three different pink color burst pencils.

As you can see I cut out the smallest flower and popped it.  Adding dimension just makes it a little more fun. :)

Whip Cream
Sweet Berry

Dahlia Burst ~ A Fun Stampers Journey Card

Today I have a lovely card to share with you that I created for my nephew (and of course his new bride) on their wedding day.  I had no idea what their colors were so I went with a blue dahlia.  I wanted it to be pretty, but not a bright pink or something.  You know what I mean, right? :)

I stamped the dahlia five times and cut parts of it out starting with the very middle budding area and kept doing the same thing keeping more of the petals each time until I had the full flower.  I colored each of the layers using Journey Color Burst Pencils...I LOVE using them!  They show beautiful and vibrant colors!  I also used the Heart Film Die Set for the heart.  I believe this will be out in the new Inspiration catalog this summer.  I received it at Leadership in January and this is the first time I used it.  Glad I was digging through my dies and saw this one. I had forgotten about, but an idea popped into my head and I finally knew how I was going to finish the card. :)

Catalina Splash
Kiwi Slice
Black Licorice
Whip Cream
