Wisteria Wonder Wings

Today's card is full of butterflies...Wisteria Wonder butterflies.   And now just a little add in here ~ I generally don't like to case cards, but only get inspiration from them.  Most of the time I'll look at a card for an idea and go in a totally different direction, however you can see I've done a pretty close case to yesterday's card as well as today's card.  I always write who inspired my card if it's pretty similar, or who I cased my card from, being careful to follow each person's requirements if they have them listed on their blog.  So, as I was saying earlier...butterflies.  As I was wondering on Splitcoast I saw a card by Bronwyn and loved it because I was all about spring for this month's stamp a stack.  You can check out Bronwyn's card and blog here

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Celebrate!

Today's card was the one and only masculine card in the group at my stamp a stack...and I love how it turned out!  Generally masculine cards are usually just "there" if you know what I mean.  There's something to this Feeling Sentimental set that I really like though.  I'd love to say I came up with this idea on my own, but I was inspired by Elizabeth H. on Splitcoast.   You can check out her card here.

Pleasant Poppies

Today I thought I'd post one of the cards we're making for this month's stamp a stack.  If you could see all of the cards, you'd notice four out of five are definitely telling you I'm ready for spring and summer. :)  I made a card similar to this one for my upline's open house and thought I'd copy that card for this class.  Guess I didn't get a picture of it though and of course I don't remember exactly what I did...figures! lol

RHSSC - Warmest Wishes

Well, I'm back again for the Red Hot Stampers' sketch challenge after taking a break last week.  I must say this challenge was definitely a hard one for me.  I was tempted to turn it upside down and try something, but I couldn't come up with anything I was satisfied with.  You don't even want to know what my husband and daughter were telling me to do! lol  Don't forget to check out the other Red Hots' sketches here

Valentine's Day - 2

Here's my last Valentine project that I made for my upline's open house.  Even though you can't tell it from the pictures, but the top of it is left open.  I never did buy anything to tuck into it, but it would fit a candy bar or a few small ones just perfectly.  After I made the first side of it I decided to make the other side opposite of the first side.

Happy Valentine's Day

Yeah!  Thanks to Bunco night I was finally able to get pics of all the cards and projects that I did for my upline's open house!  I thought I'd start with the valentine projects that I did since we just finished up with that holiday.  I guess I really like Rich Razzleberry and Very Vanilla colors together.  I had totally forgotten that I had made this card and ended up making one of my daughter's valentine's card these same colors.  Anyway any cards/projects that I post from the open house feature one of two things...either the Occasions Paper-piercing Pack or the Pop-up Posies Kit.  This card features the paper-piercing.  It goes perfectly with the Hearts Collection Framelits set.  Paper-piercing can really add just the right touch to a card.  If your card seems a little blah, just pierce it. :)

Since I just did a Valentine card I thought I'd show you what I got from my hubby for Valentine's Day.  My favorite flowers...carnations!  As a matter of fact, just seeing them and smelling them made me want to make up one of my own.

My flower turned out a bit smaller than the real flowers, but I thought I'd tuck it in with the rest of them just for the fun of it, and of course take a pic! :)

Red Hot Swaps

Today's cards are the swaps I made for our Red Hot Swap.  We needed to use something from the Spring Catalog or Sale-a-bration.  I decided to use the oval framelits and the the creped filter paper.  I was going to make purple flowers and use whisper white card stock, but didn't have enough whisper white card stock left.  How could I get so low on whisper white!  I don't know, but I did.  I'm good to go again though. :)  I'll share the goodies I received in return in a few days.  I'm hoping to get my last few soon.  I love what I've received so far!!

To My Valentines...

These are the cards I came up with for my family this year for Valentine's Day. :)  I sure have a hard time making them for guys though!  I love all the sparkle, blitz and bling...which is not a guy kind of thing! The last card has a pretty low-key heart on it.  Didn't want to make it too mushy! lol

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Delightful Dahlia - with instructions

Well, today's card is kind of a request.  I made a dahlia earlier this year and never posted pics or instructions on how to make it.  I was asked how I made it and thought it would be easier to make up another flower and take pics of each of the steps instead of trying to write every small detail.  Now if I loved to write it wouldn't be a problem, but making another flower is definitely a lot more fun for me! :)  After making the flower I looked through sketch challenges I follow and decided to use the Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge to put my flower on. :)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Stamp Set:  Curly Cute
Card Stock:  Perfect Plum & Whisper White
Classic Stampin' Pad:  Perfect Plum
Punches:  Blossom Petals Builder, 1 3/8" Circle & 3/4" Circle
Embossing Folder:  Delicate Designs
Bigz Die:  Daisies Flower # 2 - smallest one (retired)
Jewels:  Basic Pearls
Shimmer Paint:  Champagne Mist
Sponges

INSTRUCTIONS BELOW

Using the Blossom Petal Builder punch, punch out 16 of the large leaves and 8-10 of the small leaves.

Sponge around the edges of all the "petal" pieces.

After I had them all sponged I spritzed them with shimmer paint to add a bit of sparkle and to brighten and blend the ink that I sponged on each of the pieces.

Now use a dowel, ink pen or paintbrush...whatever you have...and curve each piece.  I used a smaller smooth paintbrush to curve the smaller pieces.

Punch a 3/4" circle out of scrap paper, then a 1 3/8" circle over the smaller one so you have a piece of paper that looks like this...

Now using glue dots evenly position eight of the large leaves on the circle like shown.

Add the other eight pieces in between the first layer you did.

Now add the small pieces on.  Your flower should look like this at this point. :)  You're getting pretty close to being done...hang in there!

Cut out two of the smallest daisy pieces using the Daisies Flower # 2 Biz Die.  If you don't have that any type of daisy should do.  I put a ruler there so you could actually tell how big (or small) they are.

Not sure if you can see in this pic or not, but I sponged the edges of the daisy pieces (front and back).

Next glue one on top of the other, then spritz with shimmer paint if you did it to all the petals.

Now fold them in half like shown in the picture.

Starting with one end start to roll it together.

It should look something like this when you're done.

Now insert it into the middle of the flower.  You might need to separate the pieces in the middle so there's room to push it in.

The last thing I did was turn it upside down and put a bunch of glue (tombow multi-liquid) and let it dry for a good six hours or so.

Now all you have left to do is attach it to a card, box or whatever else you have in mind. :)

RHSSC - Blooming with Kindness

It's Sunday again, so that means it's time to post another card for the Red Hot Stampers' sketch challenge.  I don't think I use a lot of black and pink together, so I thought I'd give it a try this week. :)  Don't forget to head over to the Red Hot Stampers' blog to check out the other cards made using this sketch.  If you're up to it why not give our sketch a try...

Double Blooming with Kindness

Today's cards are a couple more that we made at my January stamp a stack.  I wanted to use a couple of small things from Sale-a-bration so I used the buttons and ribbons from the Sycamore Street Ribbon & Button Pack.  I also gave them the choice between the two different colors...not a good idea unless you have two stamp sets and separate baskets otherwise you're going to spend a lot of time cleaning stamps! lol

I'm not a big fan of orange and blue together, but some people love the colors together so I thought I'd take a pic of them together. :)
