4th of July Birthday

Today's card is a little out of character for me, but I was "kind of" challenged to give it a try.  I'm glad I did...I had a lot of fun making it and like how it turned out. :)  I've never done a patriotic card before and wondered who I would give it to if I did. Well, we have a lady from our church who makes cards for everyone on their birthday (that's a lot of cards!), and I thought why not make it for her when I found out her birthday is July 4.  Oh, I almost forgot...my idea for this came from The Friday Mashup.  Thanks for the little push, Kasey! ;)

I couldn't decide which picture I liked better,
so I just put them both on. :)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Stamp Set:  Afterthoughts (retired hostess set)
Card Stock:  Night of Navy, Real Red & Whisper White
Classic Stampin Pad:  Real Red
Punches:  Decorative Label & Boho Blossoms
Jewels:  Basic Pearls

I cut seven real red strips and six whisper white strips 5 1/2" x 5/16" for the stripes.  I trimmed the edge with a paper cutter after I had all the pieces on  for a smooth finish.  Not sure what size I made the blue...I was making it at two in the morning! ;)  I just know I made it big enough to fit the twelve flowers!

  2. Hi Sara, nothing like having a 'virtual' friend who gets on your case! I wonder, is a 'virtual' friend like an imaginary friend??? LOL. Hadn't see you playing along with us for a while so had to do a little prodding, nicely of course!

Enough silliness, now to your entry in this weeks Friday Mashup challenge, I have one word for you and it's .... F A B U L O U S!!! Love those little flowers representing the stars, your friend from church will love it I'm sure, more importantly, she will love the fact that you thought of her.
    Good Luck,
    Cheers,
